Texas ain't known for pizza. Thats why we need to invite NIU so we can get access to the Chicago deep dish market.

RE: The One And Only AAC Pizza Thread - JHG722 - 07-08-2016 10:34 PM

Deep dish isn't pizza, it's pie.

Chain wise....

Papa Johns > Pizza Hut > Pizza Inn > Dominos, Harris Teeter >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Little Ceasars.

I do like the Pizzas I have had as Basils here locally though...

Apparently, you've never been to Star Pizza on Shepherd and Norfolk. It's the best pizza I've ever had. Every. Single. Time!

The fact that even the mention of pizza chains, good or bad has made a pizza discussion shows just how far the quality of pizza has fallen. The trash people are willing to accept as pizza in this great country of ours is alarming. It’s just a shame.

If you're a pizza lover going through Memphis try Lost Pizza Company. The Hot Chick with ranch is just perfect.

Connecticut = Frank Pepe's

RE: The One And Only AAC Pizza Thread - jaredf29 - 07-09-2016 10:05 AM

I've got to figure there's good pizza in Philly.

RE: The One And Only AAC Pizza Thread - JHG722 - 07-09-2016 11:52 AM

There is good pizza in Philly, and many of the places here are rated among the best in the country. I still prefer Italian food to pizza itself.

I don't know a couple of those but the ones I do know suck.

I don't know about that. Pizza is really a simple thing, and it can be produced rapidly in high-quality fashion.

Cincinnati isn't known as a pizza town, and this is best demonstrated by the fact that many of us grew up thinking LaRosa's was the best pizza ever. The options are so much greater now, even with chains like Dewey's and Pieology, Inthink the quality of pizza has risen.

It’s all a matter of what you’re used to, the choices you have available and what you’re willing to accept as good. I can take you to places in NY, NJ, Philly and CT that will make you never even look at a chain store pizza again, but that's this area.

I don’t have a problem with Famous Dave’s BBQ, but I will admit that’s far from good BBQ. How many of you southern and mid-west BBQ guys are rolling up to Daves?

RE: The One And Only AAC Pizza Thread - oldtiger - 07-09-2016 01:36 PM

Don't take too many of my comments seriously, but with the exception of Temple, it would take some discussion to convince most here that very many of us know much about real pizza. I've travelled enough to know that starting a "best" discussion with chain, delivery, or deep dish descriptors speaks volumes about our collective lack of knowledge of good pizza. New Yorkers, Bostonians, etc shouldn't be having best fried chicken, BBQ, chile, or brisket conversations and it's difficult to understand our credibility in pizza discussions.

Strickly from a southern standpoint, I'd ask my MemphisTigerFreak brother to try Rockin Dough rather than Lost Pizza the next pizza run. I'd be interested in your opinion. :)

25 years ago, here in Raleigh, you couldn't beat Andy's Pizza. They went downhill and eventually closed though.

RE: The One And Only AAC Pizza Thread - JHG722 - 07-09-2016 03:01 PM

There's actually quite a number of good BBQ places between NYC and Philly.
