Durant to GS - springcat - 07-04-2016 10:58 AM

I thought he'd stay another year at OKC

RE: Durant to GS - cwise - 07-04-2016 11:06 AM

Personally shocked. I was sure he'd be back in OKC

RE: Durant to GS - oldmangrizz - 07-04-2016 11:09 AM

Wow. So now there's GS and everybody else. I wonder who they will get rid of to clear space.

RE: Durant to GS - mempho_to_diego - 07-04-2016 11:11 AM

Barnes is gone, maybe Iggy as well?

Warriors next season will need to have at least 2 balls in play on offense. One of the 'Splash Brothers', we know it's Thompson, just got his touches drastically reduced next season. We'll see how much of a true team player he is.

OKC had the fortune of having Durant drafted by the Sonics

we'll see what their team is like when they lose Russ next year to FA

this may reorg the balance of the West's top teams, after GSW of course

They will be the Milwaukee Bucks

The NBA is a joke. This is akin to Jordan joining the Detroit Pistons

Kareem Abdul Jabar, Shaq, and Clyde Drexler all moved to win championships ,
Roger Clemens moved to the Yankees , Albert Pujols signed with the Angels, Barry Bomds went to the Giants, players are not slaves they can move after their contract is up

Remember a dozen or so years ago when Kobe and Shaq convinced Gary Payton and Karl Malone to joint the Lakers for a supposed 'Dream Team'? They got to the finals but didn't win.

They hated each other plus Larry Brown outcoached Phillip

Rumor around here is OKC will do everything they can to sign Westbrook to a long-term deal fairly soon, convincing him how much they believe in him, that it's his team to run now, etc. I'd honestly rather have him than Durant leading the way. Kind of cowardly for Durant to join GS of all teams, but that's his choice...

All of their FAs are gone and they still have to trade Bogut. It won't happen, but would be funny to see no other team willing to trade with them

RE: Durant to GS - sportsfather1 - 07-04-2016 01:26 PM

renouncing the rights to Barnes and Festus + trading Bogut to Mavs to get Durant? no brainer for the dubs.

RE: Durant to GS - ddramone - 07-04-2016 01:33 PM

Wow, this has been a really fun off-season for the NBA. I don't see how this addresses GSW's primary weakness in terms of defense and rebounding. Durant is solid at both, but I just don't know how GSW is going to have enough room on the offensive side of things for the 'Big 3'. Look no further than Kevin Love in Cleveland. When he went to the #3 option on offense, he really, really struggled.

Klay Thompson is a great defender, so at least there's that. They had better hope that Bogut remains healthy. He was their glue guy on the defensive end and never really ever wanted the ball on the offensive side of things.

I think the Grizz can leapfrog OKC now that Durant and Ibaka are gone. Provided everyone on the Grizz remains healthy.

OKC will have Adams/Kanter at center and Westbrook as their primary core players. I think the Grizz can match up and then some.

Well, Karl Malone got hurt too.

Pau Gasol signed with the Spurs. The rich get richer.

Aww man that's freaking depressing. Golden State thought Bogut was too soft. My heart can't take this...WHY Mavs...WHY!!!??
