@PSH_HSscout: Talented East St. Louis Forward duo playing well to start the season. 2019 Terrance Hargrove (@TerrenceHargro1) averaging 20.7 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 4.3 blocks. Old Dominion recruit 6’8 Joe Reece (@JosephEReece) averaging 16.5 points with 9.2 boards and 3.7 blocks a game

Nice, keep up the work young man.

Two of us are going over to see Jason Wade and his Trinity Episcopal team play Manchester tonight at 7:30 in the opening round of the Times Dispatch Invitational. TE is ranked # 1 in the area and is led by Wade and 6'10" junior Armando Bacot who is being recruited by practically everyone.

RE: Men's Basketball Recruiting: 2018 - JJMonarch - 12-16-2017 06:32 PM

While at the Trinity Episcapol game watching Jason Wade last night I was sitting next to a family that told me their third best player, Henry Coleman, has been offered by ODU and Va. Tech already. He is only a soph but has a body built already like a senior and is 6'6". He is very atheletic and has a great looking shot. He will be worth watching the next couple of years.

As for Wade, he is a stud. It's hard to judge because he was so much bigger than the opposing teams backcourt. He handles the ball like a point guard and played tenacious defense. We left middle of the 3rd quarter and Wade had 23 pts with a ton of assists and steals. He looks very good. His outside shot looks ok but he didn't shoot much outside because he penetrated so easily. The center on his team is a beast ( Bacot, 6'9" ) and they had a 6'8" kid on the front line as well as Coleman. But Wade made some sweet passes to all of them off penetration moves. I think we will like Wade's game at ODU.

Thanks for the update.

I listened to the broadcast as well. Any idea of who he is recruiting in ATL? I know Caver is from the ATL.

Someone on this thread said he was there, but I don't know if he stated who it was that he was looking at.

Anyone know if Greg McClinton (Wake Forest xfer) will be eligible next year? We’re going to miss Brandan mightily next year. The bigs in next year’s class are great, but they’re not going to be ready to play out the gate.

Didn't someone say he might play this season?

Blewbyu posted a few pages back that he has been rehabbing hard and may play second semester. He previously reported that McClinton would not be playing here next season.

Yea...That "done for season" was probably an attempt to get the medical redshirt. That has obviously been denied, so McClinton is making his push to return. I always questioned it because I saw him walking with no brace at the open practice.

You do know you can walk without a brace. He tore It in the summer. Had surgery in the summer. If he wasn’t walking in October without the big bulky brace i would question the surgeon and anyone involved in his rehab

Also depends on type of procedure.

If true, that just seems completely unfair to him. NCAA should be ashamed.

I was under the impression that redshirt determinations were made post-aeason.

Men's Basketball Recruiting: 2018 - ODU Hoops - 12-21-2017 11:28 PM

Redshirts are approved or denied post season.

I've heard that if he doesn't play later this season he is highly unlikely to get another year approved by the NCAA. It has nothing to do with his injury at ODU, it has to do with his first redshirt year. I'll leave it at that since I don't have any other details.

I didn't know that. I have never dealt with a lower body injury, minus the occasional hamstring. That was pure speculation that he is making big strides in his recovery. It was an assumption.

This is correct. Not exactly like the Donte/Clemson situation, since it has nothing to do with playing time/scrimmages/etc.; but similar in that there seems to be enough grey area during that year at Wake Forest that the NCAA has issue. I don't understand their reasoning, but way to go NCAA for, yet again, another great display of caring for the student-athlete.

These two situations (and others) don't really seem like schools are trying to take advantage of the system. The NCAA needs to hire a "Director of Common Sense." Is there anyone in the building there that ever looks their boss in the eye and asks them if they are serious?
