I haven't seen a lot of videos of Reece, but here is the best I could find. He is #24 in white and orange. This is his AAU team.

DaBig and others, can you please tell the rest of us more about Joe ? Not that familiar with him. Wonder if we get another person from overseas?

I believe he committed on Twitter. He played on the Adidas uprising circuit which is decent but not to the level of the EYBL. I haven't seen him in person but based on the videos he looks pretty athletic and plays above the rim. With some extra strength and weight he could be a good get. He reminds me of Nick Wright right now.

Played for Bradley Beal Elite of EYBL this summer. Did not start in 9 games. But it is the top St. Louis team.

High school team (Vashon - St. Louis) won the Class 4 State Championship the last two seasons. (Class 5 is the largest in Missouri)
Known for basketball, the 2017 Championship was it's 10th title. They won 3 other times in early 2000's but were later stripped of titles because of ineligible players.
Teammate, Mario McKinney (class of 19), will also be playing high level D1 basketball.

Never saw Nick move like that.

RE: Men's Basketball Recruiting: 2018 - ODU True Blue - 10-15-2017 09:54 AM

6-5 PG.

2 forwards.

Looking good. Now just a 6-10 or taller and these last two classes will be sweet.

Class coming together nicely! Looking forward to seeing these guys on the floor together.

Posted from mobile device. Hopefully it's coherent.

Long, smooth, scorer, a 6-8 F who can go into the lane. Offers: Saint Louis, Kansas State, Duquesne, Murray St, UT Martin and Cleveland St, not a bad group.

For all the disappointment surrounding football this season, we've had some excited hoops news. Jones is earning a bit of job security with these last two classes.

Nothing about this guy reminds me of Nick.....Maybe he is a really nice guy. That would remind me of Nick.

He is the most negative poster there is. You really have to ignore him. He is worse than RR.

Hea negative about football. Dont think he meant Wright as a knock.

Do we have one more in us?

Nevermind, got the posters mixed up.

RE: Men's Basketball Recruiting: 2018 - DaBigBlue - 10-15-2017 06:07 PM

My take on Joe, is he has some has upside. Very lean needs some weight, not a great frame, but long. The guy can shoot, moves well with his feet in the lane, not bad D, goes for a lot of blocks. Played with some very good players last year. As we know some players play better with better players, like Scottie Pippen. So this year will be huge and he'll be the go to guy. Joe has a nice shroke for a big and can put the ball on the floor. Those last two makes him not like Nick.

RE: Men's Basketball Recruiting: 2018 - DaBigBlue - 10-15-2017 06:10 PM

We may see some more activity on the 2018 front. I like what the staff has done so far, went after some positions we needed to fill, with bigs and PG. Jason will play first year.

Hard to give props when they are due ... same old stuff on these boards

Not negative just realistic and don't look at things through rose collered glasses. Nick Wright was thin, long, about the same height, athletic, ran the floor well, and blocked shots well and played well in HS. This is the same as this recruit. In HS Nick Wright was one of the better players around. There is a huge jump needed in talent and development to be successful in a D! program. If you can't see that ...you are not very knowledgeable about basketball.

RE: Men's Basketball Recruiting: 2018 - DaBigBlue - 10-15-2017 10:44 PM

I love Nick, but he only had one offer out of HS. He ended up being a team captain and went to the NCAAs twice while at ODU. The two years we went to the NCAAs with Nick he was a big part of the team. Why dish Nick.

I wonder how critical some people would be to these kids' faces?

Who dished on Nick ? My comments were positive and reflective of the understanding that it takes a lot of work to be successful at a D1 level.
