They're arranged in order of expected strength, oldest being the lowest ranked, newest - highest

Tulane might take offense to that.

But seriously, SMU showed a lot of potential last year. I think they'll get a generous spot. Probably above Memphis and below UConn

Tomorrow starts the SBNation AAC rankings - Westhoff123 - 04-21-2016 12:36 PM

Im surprised they give ucf a 53% chance of beating tulsa.

Maybe he expects a step back from Tulsa this year.

SMU above Memphis? Did you forget the 63-0 last game of this past season? We lost a QB and a coaching staff, but do you think that will set us back 63+ points?

Memphis is likely to win 7 games, give or take one. SMU and UConn better than that?

I could see UConn being better than that. Tough to see a LOT of improvement out of SMU. When your defense is as bad as there's was last year it is not a 1 year fix. Trust me, it took us 2 or 3 years to finally get a decent defense going. I am sure there offense will be legit this year but no matter how good your O is you better have a D to stop someone. If UConn could make their O 4-5 pts better per game, with their D, I can see them competing for the East crown.

Not sure why their horrible defense can only get better.

Same here. Don't see it happening. I think UCF gets 3 wins. Decent jump from 0-12, actually.

I expect Memphis to fall back 2 or 3.

Or Mountain West below the MAC. It's a shame Boise had to be such greedy pricks. They would have been great with SDSU on the football side.

Don't be surprised. Check out what happened to us after we lost Keenum/Sumlin. It's easy to underestimate just how good a player like Lynch was, and plays that were always flawless suddenly now look like dogsh*t.

We have most of the rest of the team back, with another year, plus a couple of jucos. D will be a LOT better, but not as good as 2014.

We also have a decent pair of QBs. One is a 4 star former TN QB from juco, now a junior for us, who got beat out by the current TN guy, IIRC. Riley Ferguson. Won't be Paxton, but won't be meat, either.

If not him, then a RS Fr 3 star with some SEC interest. Brady Davis.

Two or 3 win drops at worst, I hope.

It's ok. We had to burn it down in order to get rid of GOL.

The thing about UCF is that talent base has zero excuse for going winless. Frankly, I don't know how they went 0-12. The whole program just mailed it in last year. My guess is 6-6 is the 2016 floor for UCF--and I wont be surprised if they are near the top of the standings. This isn't Tulsa or SMU where the talent base was allowed to deteriorate. Since 2014, in the AAC, UCF has finished with the #4, #3, and #2 recruiting classes per Rivals. They played a lot of young players last year. Quick turnarounds can happen when the shelves are really well stocked---especially now that those young talented players have a year of experience under their belt.
