An excellent case made for UCF. I am impressed and I suspect others may be as well. IF expansion is only about those specific issues, they would be a shoo-in. Yet the travel distances; the lack of a true, exclusive large UCF fan base; and the direct head-to-head competition with other very local schools such as (FSU, Miami, Florida, and USF) will be a negative. Historically, they have a low fan turnout on Saturdays and they are 3rd or 4th in college football fans' minds in Florida; recent years notwithstanding with the on campus stadium. I don't necessarily believe they are on the outside of any current discussions, however, but we won't know until a decision is made.

The Georgia and Alabama fans in Florida outnumber the UCF & USF fans combined.

Minority here, but I both like the article and theargument. The UCF fans in NYC are legion, loud and numerous. We have had quite a few combined watch events and we are outnumbered, as much as 10 to 1 at times.
UCF is a growing school and a good bet by a league like the big 12. I hope we get in over them, but the Big 12 would be insane to not at least consider them.

I'm surprised to hear this. I travel a bit. And run into Tiger fans all over - LA, Dallas, Chicago, Philly, Detroit. I even ran into one on a ski lift in Boise once. Don't think I've ever run into anyone wearing UCF gear.

I have a few in-laws that went to Florida and one to FSU and they say that they went to school with A LOT of out of state students from the Northeast (especially New York). If you are 18, living in NY, and have a choice of a nearby school or sunny Florida? Yep, easy choice.

The only way I think they will add anyone is if they are poached by another.. The B12 will then have trouble staying afloat..
