Big 12 chair leaving for Pac 12 - CougarRed - 03-25-2016 04:38 PM

Kansas St president Kirk Schulz, who recently criticized David Boren for conducting conference business in the press and lamented the perceived instability it caused, has taken the Washington State job.

Schulz was chair of the Big 12 presidents.

It's clear now he felt he could scold Boren publicly because he was out the door.

Put Snyder in for the job at KState. He would side with Boren.

Very interesting. Seems like at best a lateral move.

Like to follow Kirk Schulz's career. He started his career as an associate prof of chemical engineering at UND, which was my major.

The move doesn't portend good for the B12'S stability.

He's been at KSU 12 years. That's a very long tenure for a college president.

I doubt it has any impact at all on Big 12 stability.

Until a conference network is established, there will never be stability anyway.

well the twitter rumors are saying 4 big 12 school's to the pac 12 which i always thought was the best move for Texas and OU. What 4? I would pencil in Texas, Texas Tech, OU and either KU or Ok state but i like the pac 18 with the 2 public school's from texas, Ok, and Kan. Than you got the crazy bluevod twitter concept of Baylor to the big 10. Funny. It is the season of realignment rumors.

This is a wide sentiment, but I disagree with it. None of the programs that might leave in my opinion will remain because of a conference network. In fact, Texas would probably be much more likely to leave without the LHN which means a conference network might actually be destabalizing to the conference.

I'd think Rice would have a shot before Baylor....

Rice is AAU and actually in a very large metro area....ya, their sports suck, but that wouldn't be the motivating factor to adding them

Honestly, I don't think the PAC 12 is doing so hot...I actually think they are slowly becoming the weakest P5 conference

They have a really weak network....I don't know why Texas would want to give up the LHN and join the PAC 12

As for Oklahoma, I think they'd shop themselves around to the SEC or B1G first....

I don't see anyone inviting Texas Tech...

RE: Big 12 chair leaving for Pac 12 - jaredf29 - 03-28-2016 11:06 AM

The PAC 12 will NOT invite a religious sectarian school with anti-lgbt policies like Baylor and TCU. If you think the liberals in charge of the schools are going to go for that you should have your head checked.

The new conference network would certainly have to ensure Texas receiving at least as much revenue as the LHN currently provides. If that can be done, why would a Big 12 network cause them to leave??

RE: Big 12 chair leaving for Pac 12 - bluesox - 03-28-2016 11:17 AM

I wouldn't rule out TCU but no way baylor gets a big 10 or pac 12 invite. The pac 12 might not be doing too hot right now but they have the room and if you put in Texas + OU they are boiling...just need to cut a deal on their network. If OU and texas want to stay together joining the pac 16-20 is the best spot if they leave the big 12. I guess texas could join the pac 12 post OU and KU going to the big 10 with Texas Tech, Houston and TCU or Ok state if OU and texas aren't working together.

That's a pretty fair point, albeit an overlooked one.

I can't speak 4 Baylor but TCU Does NOT have nor
has ever had any type of discrimination policy against LGBT's
or against any race or nationality

TCU is affiliated w/ the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)
which practice unity, not uniformity, social justice concerns,
& inclusion 4 all. All are welcomed & accepted as they are.

DOC Identity statement.
“We are Disciples of Christ, a movement for wholeness in a fragmented world.
As part of the one body of Christ we welcome all to the Lord’s Table as God has welcomed us.”

Liberals do seem to like free speech as long you agree with them. Universities are entering dictator land.

Hey, our baseball doesn't suck. And tennis is pretty good.
