Western Kentucky job just opened up - Memphis Blazer - 03-17-2016 10:23 PM

WKU's coach just resigned amid some scandal that resulted in the suspension of three players.

Might be a good fit for Pastner.

1. Close to Cal
2. Great basketball tradition.
3. Pastner has experience cleaning up messes previous coach left.

It's a much better job than UTSA. One that Pastner would probably be able to win at. The previous coach was only making like $500,000, but if Memphis and Pastner could negotiate a settlement, it might be a good solution.

Nobody is hiring Pastner. We're stuck with him.

You think the Blazers would hire him?

RE: Western Kentucky job just opened up - HometownTiger - 03-18-2016 12:35 AM

Give it up. He aint going anywhere...too much $ on the table and not enough mutual interest.

Are there any grumblings about Haase? UAB after all went something like 21-6 for the season.

No grumblings at all. And we went 26-7, winning the CUSA regular season. Most wins ever in UAB history. All but one senior return for next year.

Thanks to the crappy CUSA conference, we did not have a strong enough SOS to get an at large bid. Lost in the NIT at Brigham Young Wednesday.

Haase is making 1 million at UAB with an appropriate buyout.

Thanks for asking.

I keep waiting for all these schools to offer him a job knowing he's on the hot seat here with all these delusional fans who can't appreciate how awesome he is ... Right ?

Josh suspends 3 players per week. I can't think he'd feel comfortable there. We can hope, though.

Uh, no he doesn't. He has experience taking over a top 10 national program and turning it into a dumpster fire in 5 years flat.

This past season he went something like 5-5 against Cusa 2.0 in the AAC (Houston, SMU, Tulsa, UCF, ECU, and Tulane). Surely he could better that in Cusa 3.0. After all he beat LaTech and USM this year.

5 years? This is the 4th year I didn't renew my season tickets. I tend to object to basketball teams that don't run an offense and can't play defense. I find those 2 parts of the game critical.

have to play some good teams to overcome that CUSA chain around your neck. It is possible.

Does UAB now want Pastner?? Surprised no UAB fans knew about Stanford's courtship

Nobody is going to hire this loser. Josh is stuck here, and we are stuck with him. Get ready for yet another season of bad feelings and worse basketball.

Ex-Miss St. coach Rick Stansbury will take the Western Kentucky job, barring a last-minute collapse in negotiations, sources told ESPN.
