Yep. It should surprise no one. The GOP establishment just nominated Trump.

The GOP establishment is going to miss selling out the American people.

Surprisingly, GOP held the line, at least so far.

The GOP establishment knows that if they cave here, Trump is a guarantee.

RE: Republican Leaders Meeting With Dems And Obama Right Now On SCOTUS Opening - Redwingtom - 03-01-2016 02:06 PM

And they know if they don't cave, that they'll potentially lose the Senate.

Quite the conundrum!

They shouldn't lose the Senate.

And I just learned about this going on in New Jersey. Interesting....

Sweeney: No hearings for Christie Supreme Court pick

It's far from a certainty. They could easily lose 4 seats alone with just OH, PA, WI and NH. The polling in these states indicate that voters don't like the obstructionism at all!

I am not surprised that my home state of Lamesylvania would feel that way. It is a state of wussies. We stunk in the French and Indian War and the Revolutionary War. Except for Mad Anthony Wayne, Sam Brady and John Armstrong

SCOTUS will not be the defining issue on which the Senate will change.

Interesting. All of a sudden Reid and his cohorts want to make friends with the Reps when all 8 years they've been giving them the finger.

The very definition of the dims reaching across the aisle and insuring "judicial independence". 03-lmfao

It's actually the other way in the song.

Obama is still going to nominate someone, as he should. This will all be on the Republicans at that point. I hope they realize they're setting up a precedent that will continue forever. President Trump shouldn't complain if Kennedy passes away in 2020 and the Democratic-controlled Senate refuses to hold a hearing on his nominee.

In Ohio, Portman was in a contest before any of this SC stuff happened, so don't pretend that the SC had anything to do with it.

However, if Portman doesn't go along with taking a long time to decide on an SC nominee, I'll never support him again............

The shoe does fit on either foot, but hey - that's the way the game is played.
