Pastner/Bowen at halftime - JhanJo - 02-18-2016 07:46 PM

I noticed towards the end of the halftime break honoring the student athletes, Bowen walked across the court and spoke to Brad Martin and two other guys seated on ambassador row. I am not sure who they were though one of them looked like Bill Laurie. I could be completely wrong on that but either way it was obvious they were two well connected fellas.

The team came out for the second half and Josh shook hands and spoke briefly to those two men before he started talking to Bowen. It's hard to describe the nature of the conversation happening so far away but I thought it looked very personal. At the end they shook hands, then a sort of half hug like guys do, and then, it was a full on embrace. I got the sense that something had been decided. Both guys know he's done and maybe there were some issues that needed to be solved and Bowen was letting him know the deal was done?

Anyone else see this exchange?

Yes

Pastner ask a question

Bowen said the check was in the mail

RE: Pastner/Bowen at halftime - 450bench - 02-18-2016 08:14 PM

Personally, I think the deal is done.

Maybe they were celebrating him for signing an extension

Hey Bench, what % do you give it that the deal is done?

Just throwing this out there - listening to "The Drive" (out of Huntsville) tonight there was several mentions of "rumors about Pearl looking" and twice they alluded to Memphis. The host ended the conversation with "I hope Auburn can hold on to him".

Probably "looking for a raise"

I thought this was a B12 thread.

I saw it and tweeted Jason Smith about it. I saw the exact same thing. Both had a somber look and Bowen seemed to look down as he walked off the court

That was Rudy Scheidt and Brad Martin that Bowen was talking to prior to Pastner

You sure it wasn't Elken Sheidt?

Certainly tough to speculate with any certainty but if I had to wager I'd say the odds are good that they've got something done.

Just to add, a lot of us have been pushing and hoping we could get a new coach in place and gain some hope, promise, different leadership and basically get the program back on track. Obviously, that needs to occur now.
But as a person, when it's all official, I'll feel bad for Josh. He is a human being. A rich human being but you hate to see anyone go through this kind of stress, scrutiny etc.
Its got to be tough for the guy mentally.

Hopefully the discussion was about a settlement they've agreed to. Like $.50 on the $1.00 type settlement.

We will not be that fortunate.

He would be a moron to leave with anything less.

Just exactly what part of "Just throwing this out there" confuses you?
