Are they adding a 40K stadium, because no such animal exists right now. They have about a 30K stadium, with an 8-lane track, that was built in 1969 and renovated to add womens track locker rooms in the mid-1990's. It was estimated in 92 that it would take 24 million to bring it up to D1 standards. That was nearly 25 years ago, so Im sure its going to cost far more than that.

some talk of taking the track out an adding an end zone, much as we did at Robertson. They would be competitive quickly. No need to spend any time in the sun belt or cusa.

If we wanted we could add them and jmu Olympic and call up the football in the event of defections.

Since the Big 12 isn't expanding this go around, let's add all the teams that will really piss off Bearcats#1. Yes we will lose money, but damn it will be hilarious.

Wow just kidding they have 11k enrollment and a 95% acceptance rate.

They probably at least have a 30,000-seat stadium. But you know what? Let them do it. We could pick them up in a few years after they make the jump to Div. 1-A. (I'm still calling it 1-A and 1-AA.)

no thanks.... plan in c-usa for 10 years, win some games...and we'll think about it

Since they are in the Missouri Valley (for non-football), I assume that they'd have auto-membership within the MVC's football. Usually it is the best or second-best 1-AA conference each year along with the CAA.

Old Dominion and Georgia State both used that auto-invite within the CAA and then parlayed to 1-A from there. The CAA probably regrets adding football as that happened and supposedly made VCU and Mason look around.

We could do a AAC/Missouri Valley challenge in hoops...it would be fairly even.

Seriously mods, how is this allowed to continue. Look at this clown's last dozen posts, over half are compete troll jobs.

Guy spends literally all day on a site to complain about how bad his school's situation is, it's easily top 3 saddest internet existences I have have ever seen, which is saying something. It's to a point that I actually feel bad for this guy or girl.

Now that I remembered to sign in, his replies will be blocked....so satisfying.

It takes a few years to really get a FB program up to the competition, so I'd hope they would stay in the Valley for that sport a while.

But this could be all about the Koch brothers underwriting the startup with the unlimited resources they have to spend - about $100 billion (billion with a "B") net worth.

But I'm fine with just the top 20 MBB team and their other strong sports programs like baseball, WBB and WVB coming into the AAC. Their baseball attendance alone would instantly lead the league with over 3,000 average in their very nice 7,000plus seat venue.

Koch arena is due to add luxury boxes and more seats as well soon. The volleyball team is in the top 10 in VB attendance. WBB has gone to the NCAA several times recently. They also won the 1989 national championship in baseball and have been the runner up 3 times (1982, 1991 and 1993 with 7 total appearances in the CWS), so that sport is obviously strong. What's not to like.

One more thing is that they will host a 2018 MBB 1st and 2nd round regional in Wichita's downtown arena - Intrust Bank Arena (15,000). Any AAC team who gets lucky enough to be in that regional might have a built in advantage of fans.

This plan proves that Wichita State is both lazy and smart (and calculated in its approach). They are banking that the AAC loses two of Cincy, UConn, or Memphis to the Big 12 and that the AAC will then need an infusion of basketball luster to replace whichever of those schools leave in order to stay relevant in that sport. So, the AAC will take them out of necessity for basketball and, at the same time, Wichita will get to instantly hitch its wagon to the AAC in football and avoid having to spend time in the Sun Belt, MAC, or CUSA... or even in FCS.

Smahhhht. Very Smahhhht.

Lol relax jr

and what dis I say that is so off here? The Mo Valley and the AAC are one/two bid leagues...a matchup of the two is fair.

lol you dont think we belong in a challenge with the big boys do ya!?

Cincy should take the lead on this. Feel free to schedule the entire MVC league next season. Cincy fans should be really excited for that. That'll really show us!

I would love to have Wichita State as a 12th non-football member, but we don't need a startup football program.

mo valley teams usually have better RPI's than those losers you play...like SW Grand Canyon Tech and Indian Farming U and Texas Prairie School for the Limp Wristed
