WBB Tournament Bracketology - Next Sports Phenom - 01-29-2016 08:09 PM

Seems that right now the "experts" have Hofstra winning the CAA and playing Florida State in round 1 of the NCAA tournament in Florida. Dukes would get an NIT bid and with their predicted 6 loses should have at least 2 home games. Think I'd rather go to Florida.

Only reason is likely due to Hofstra being a half game up on us due to the snow out. I question if Hofstra can sustain.

RE: WBB Tournament Bracketology - GoJMUDukes - 01-29-2016 08:52 PM

They probably just used Hofstra because they're technically on top of the standings by virtue of us having to reschedule a game. The two teams are actually about even. They lost to Elon by 1, but we beat them by 5. We lost to William and Mary by 6 but they beat them by 30.

RE: WBB Tournament Bracketology - Potomac - 01-29-2016 09:05 PM

All they do is look at who is in first place at the time of their publication. If there's a tie, they pick whoever has the highest rpi rank. There is no real thought put into mid-major picks... whatsoever.

Well, now that Hofstra just lost, the lazy bracketologists should have JMU as the auto-bid as long as we maintain the top spot.

Here's another look at the Bracketology from college sports madness. I like this as it has two very winnable games starting with Miami leading to a Sweet 16 match in College Park.

Still has us as a 12 seed but now against Florida in East Lansing MI.

Still no little blurb on each team when you click on the school name. Charlie's getting mighty lazy.

Saw on twitter Precious Hall was at practice doing a little bit of shooting. Looks pretty healthy

I wouldn't get exicted. I doubt Kenny brings her back for what maybe 10 games when she's a senior and got a redshirt. If she comes back and plays these last few games she'll lose the redshirt and her career ends this year. If she stays out she'll be able to play next year.

Yeah wouldn't make any sense unless she had already decided she wasn't going to come back for a fifth year. Especially since we lose so much talent this year. She might score 75% of the points next season.

I agree completely, but always better to get healthier sooner rather than later.

Kenny has stated on more than one occasion that Precious will not be back this year. He has also said that she is recovering more quickly than they had anticipated but he will not bring her back for a few games at the end of the year or for the tournament. He wants her to have a full final season.

Looking forward to next year having Precious on the team will be a plus considering how young next years team will be.

We are all upset that she got hurt and will miss the final season with Muff, Jaz and Ashley but there is always next year. ACL's usually take 12 to 18 months to full heal anyway, Adrian Peterson not withstanding!!

It's kind of been a blessing in disguise. Jaz has had to step up and be the main scoring threat, and has answered the call.

A very young 2016 supporting cast will be only that much more improved behind Precious. Cooper-Williams is going to be a beast, and Butler will be able to move to a more comfortable 4 in 2017. Also quite curious to see what Amber Porter is able to contribute.

Will Precious play at UVA next year? Is she set to graduate this year?

Why would she transfer? She has a pretty good chance of making the NCAA tourney here next year. I'd be very surprised if she did leave, there's no reason for her to.

RE: WBB Tournament Bracketology - JMUNation - 02-14-2016 12:02 AM

She adores Kenny.

RE: WBB Tournament Bracketology - Duke Dawg - 02-14-2016 06:32 AM

Uva will spend weeks throwing the bank at dawn Staley to bring her home before they ever pick up the phone to call anyone else.
