Attendance - ncrdbl1 - 01-27-2016 10:47 PM

After watching the Houston/Tulsa game i had to check the conferences stats. Even with things as bad as many say they are. The Tigers are STILL leading the AAC in attendance. One of only two teams with an average over 10,000 and the only one with an average over 11,000

That post really sums you up.

Replace "attendance" with "tickets sold". We have no idea where we stand with regard to actual attendance.

Don't it doe

I like to see the capacities for all the AAC arenas. We average more than Duke. I guess that means their fans and coach suck

RE: Attendance - stratecashomie - 01-27-2016 11:09 PM

there are only really two schools in this conference that we should even be comparing ourselves to when it comes to attendance

RE: Attendance - ncrdbl1 - 01-27-2016 11:10 PM

Based on last year's final numbers we have dropped but only from 21st to 34. Still among the national leaders in attendance.

Perhaps if you actually ever went to a game you would appreciate the dropoff and not make silly posts trying to equivocate a close to 30% drop over the past two years.

If they did the count they way they did in the "infamous" 2004-05 season it would be about 6000 avg at best

DROPPED is the key point. We are on a downward trend. Would you suggest that we wait until we drop out of the Top 100 before making a change? Top 200? The program is heading in he wrong direction and there is little to indicate that it will reverse course under Pastner. We gotta make a change before we drop into an/the abyss.

Read this post over and over.

It's bad. Those of us with season tickets who go to every game know it's bad we've seen the drop firsthand.

Traffic and lines are great though.

You can't sugar coat this. 03-phew

There are maybe 5,000 butts in seats at the forum this year.

Maybe the Tigers should play more "regional powers" that might get few more to show up. I'm sure the Grizz are so happy with the numbers. Bright side is maybe a couple of years of this and the Tigers get a "right" sized venue on Campus like those you see at Ole Miss and Auburn.

UPigg is 10-10...bright side is...um, yeah...there is no bright side to that

TROLL harder!!

RE: Attendance - fsquid - 01-28-2016 09:39 AM

This actually is a positive though. We've evidently sold a good number of season tickets despite the angst against the coach. That becomes a great base for increasing when the new coach starts in March. Times are not dire as many would lead you to believe.

The correct term for announced attendance is "tickets distributed", which includes tickets sold, Univ owned tix, Athletic Dept owned tix, Industry trade-outs, plus free actual student attendance.

Easy to say sitting in a Barcalounger in the Sunshine State.

Again, feeling the absolute void at a game is incredible. Eight straight years of 16k+ attendance to 13k to 11K in two short years.

Talk radio treats Memphis as an afterthought. NO buzz about recruiting. The CA can't get clicks on articles.

Shaq has a career night and the general consensus the next a.m. is still just about if this means Boy Wonder might stick around another year.
