Calkins cares about Calkins. He could care less about the success of our University. He's all about sensationalizing the story.

Calkins is the voice of Joe Average Tiger fan. Has been for years.
Behind the Chicago Tribunes now deceased columnist Mike Royko....Geoff Calkins is my favorite columnist. He doesn't enjoy having to write about firing anyone. But coaching is a business. If you are ever in it long enough...chances are rally good that you're going to be fired.
Geoff's column isn't for the fans. Its to the UofM admins...if Geoff is writing it....then people are thinking it....which means the admins better be listening.

i doubt if many recruits are reading Calkins on a regular basis in order to form their opinion of the program. They're forming it based on the record, the number of recruits who sign and leave, and the opinions of their own coaches.

100% truth. 5 stars are lining up at the door to play for Pastner. Im not sure whether its his ability to motivate and inspire, the mindfulness training players can get here, or the opportunity to wear an Attitude of Gratitude friendship bracelet. But I noticed that as those players wait at the door, they are reading the CA and some of them are bolting. Im sick of this negativity running off big time recruits!!

His job is to sell papers and generate website clicks. He is paid by the company that publishes the paper and the website. The more people bring his name up, the more papers are sold.
Keep generating posts like yours and he will get a raise.
