Dear Friends,
I was a member of a fraternity at Eastern, and would have to disagree with Bill Maher. There were, and are, other reasons for being a fraternity member. One big reason for me, was that the fraternity house was cheaper than the dorms. Another was the ability to participate in intramural sports, in which the competition was better in the fraternity league than in the independent league.

You can disagree all you want about sports, which in the grand scheme of things means NOTHING, but I have no time for people like you. EMU is an institution of higher learning. We respect civil rights and equality and we understand science. We are not a bunch of backwoods rednecks.

Anyways, UT is one the top Colleges for African-American students like
EMU. EMU, NIU, UT, WMU are the MAC schools with the highest % of African-American students-all over 12%. Schools like Miami U or Ohio U, African-American students make up 4-5% of the student population.

Shame a few drunken bigoted idiots grab headlines. My guess is theyexist on just about every campus. They definitely need some attitude readjustment help and punishment.

Agree. There is no room for those idiots on ANY college campus! I refuse to let alcohol to be used as an excuse. Every college student has gotten drunk and stupid at least once--and not acted like a racist, bigoted halfwit. Get rid of them.
