Sam Craft - Hoots - 01-05-2016 05:07 PM

Haven't seen a whole lot of mentions about this kid. Can he make a difference on this team?

As long as he doesn't run it up the middle he can help the team.

Hey now!

If he can hit the midrange jumper or the three, then yes. We need a knockdown shooter worse than we need another running back, IMO.

I think this is more about next season. I wonder if he's thinking of quitting football?

At Olive Branch he shot 46-158 from 3 (29%) which is the current team average for the Tigers. He's tough and a good rebounder but not a great shooter.

would have been pretty scrappy against South Carolina, we could use a physical guard.

I thought he might get some playing time in that game. It's not like our offense is hard to learn.

RE: Sam Craft - Hoots - 01-05-2016 05:23 PM

Hope he sees some time tonight. Curious to see him play.

RE: Sam Craft - tigeriron - 01-05-2016 07:45 PM

no telling, given the weights. he's used to contact. hope he's not a foul machine. ima bettin he'll surprise some folks

RE: Sam Craft - Easterwood - 01-05-2016 07:56 PM

Was a lock down defender

Not a great shooter

Smart, a true PG

RE: Sam Craft - Unionman76 - 01-05-2016 11:09 PM

Made a move to the basket tonight

In a blink of the eye

Man he is fast

RE: Sam Craft - tigeriron - 01-05-2016 11:21 PM

he played pretty smart too. that's a testimony for the mins he got. I kept thinkin, "don't pull him, don't pull him!"

He looked like it tonight, and I'll bet the other guys listen to him, too.

Not particularly BB fast but has potential. Tarrant is fast.

RE: Sam Craft - Tiger Greg - 01-06-2016 01:34 AM

He was a pleasant surprise.

RE: Sam Craft - holyterror - 01-06-2016 07:46 AM

With those shoulders, no one is likely to move him out of position. Didn't look winded, despite the announcers talking about his not being in basketball shape.

RE: Sam Craft - Hoots - 01-06-2016 08:34 AM

I thought his play was encouraging. Time will tell against other teams, but it does seem like he can defend, and his teammates are behind him.

Too valuable in football than to risk injury on the basketball court, wish he'd stick to football. BUT, I have to admit, after a 3 year layoff from hoops, he was very impressive last night. Liked his aggressiveness and his toughness, not afraid to go inside with the bigs and go after rebounds.....Was also impressed with Marshall, needs more minutes.

RE: Sam Craft - holyterror - 01-06-2016 09:12 AM

Marshall has come a long way in a short time. And I think he was dinged up last night.
