Rumor blog says Saints quarterbacks coach and former Ball State quarterback Mike Neu will be named the new Ball State football coach, possibly on Tuesday. Sounds like an excellent choice.
An Indianapolis native, Neu was a four-year starter at quarterback for Ball State where he was named the MAC Most Valuable Player and Offensive Player of the Year as a senior in 1993. A four-year starter for the Cardinals, Neu guided his squad to the conference championship as a senior and departed with school records in passing yards, attempts, completions and touchdown passes.

If it comes to pass, it could bring back bad memories for our Toledo friends. Remember, it was Mike Neu who engineered the biggest comeback in Ball State football history when he led the Cardinals to a 31-30 win over the Rockets after trailing 30-3 late in the third quarter of the Homecoming game in 1993. The winning touchdown came on the last play of the game.

Sounds like a great hire for BSU. Anytime you can get a coach with NFL experience, expecially a QB coach who has guided a future HOF in Drew Brees; this is a great get for BSU.

It's college sports, have to have fun with it, unlike so many of the pro leagues. they've regulated the enjoyment out of them

That is the 3rd MAC West HC hired from the NFL. That NFL experience really gives coaches an education in the game.
