Shocker, his wife sent Pax a congrats on Twitter her profile pic had him wearing a VT shirt in front of a Christmas tree and background of the stadium in Blacksburg. Really appreciate what Fu and his guys did for us but ready for them to get gone. We got a program to keep building.

Just go. Please?

RE: Brad Cornelsen to be Virginia Tech OC - DallasTiger - 12-31-2015 07:58 PM

I bunch of hired guns moving on to the next gun fight with our former sheriff. We got us a new sheriff and a new posse. Looks like the town is still in good shape and in good hands.

Agreed. The way this bunch is leaving leaves a lot to be desired.

Fuente was trying to secure that VT job when we still had several games left. His focus wasn't here, neither were his assistants. It cost us several games. And with the coaches left helping out with the bowl game none of them were really thinking about that game. They were thinking about future plans and all that. Same with Lynch. The whole thing was a distraction and dissapointing for our players especially the seniors.

Best post I've read in this forum for quite a while. Some folks just refuse to believe our "program savior" would passive aggressively take a dump on it during the process of exiting.

So people really believe Fuente is hurting the program?

No...its just that some people refuse to act like a bitter ex-girlfriend and realize that Fuente brought our program out of the basement of college football to the point that we have national redox and are a viable candidate for inclusion in the Big 12.

Just because everyone doesn't feel exactly like you do doesn't make them wrong. I'm so sick of about 5 posters on here thinking it's their responsibility to "correct" everyone's opinion. Feel free to just not respond if you don't agree- there's no need to be a jerk CONSTANTLY.

You have no idea what anyone in the program was doing or what would have happened if Fuente hadn't been looking for the next gig. Navy was a game I was certain we'd lose the second I saw it on the schedule. After that we had a 20 point lead in the 4th on Houston so so don't that the coaches weren't trying. Things just fell apart, it happens.

I frankly have no problem with people looking for greener pastures but to do it on U OF M'S dime and time seems totally unworthy. I would have had more respect for him if he had waited until the season was over and completed his assignment before accepting an offer. He didn't have to do it for the fans but the players that followed and believed in him deserved better. I feel without them the present position he now holds would NOT be possible.

I have been tempted to start a thread discussing this but I feel there are way too many who bow at his altar. The main reason I didn't start a thread is I believe he is a phenomenal coach who has done something favorable for Memphis that can't be denied. He showed what can be accomplished here if the money is spent here wisely. Yet, starting a thread of this type would create an unnecessary conflict were nothing could be resolved.

Seems you have no concept of what integrity means. Any other business out there if your boss finds out you are looking at other offers while you should be working for them. You would be out the door that moment. Maybe the concept if integrity is foreign in today's society?
