Park in one of the lots around the stadium. There will be parking in a big grass field to the west of the stadium. If you park on the street and someone asks you to pay them to "watch your car" then do it. Don't ask any questions.

no parking where everybody can watch you making whoopee.

with the weather forecast, is parking on grass wise?

Turn left when you hear shots from a 9 mm....then turn right when you here shots from a .38 and parking should be on the right shoulder just after that. (jk!)

We paid $10 to some guy to park on a residential street. Definitely see what you meant.

As it turned out, where they told us to park. There was no choice of parking lots. The police had you in a line from about a half mile from the stadium, and single-filed you into parking rows. We were pleased as punch at the parking space! Getting out was another ballgame...

It took us an hour to move 75 feet. I've never seen anything so ridiculous in my life.

We were in the line of cars going toward the stadium on Graymont and heard a cop telling another vehicle all the lots were full and to find a spot whereever you could on a surface street. I took the next left and parked on 3rd street about 6 blocks from the stadium.

There were spots still open in the stadium lots as we walked in but I was cool with how it worked out. Getting out wasn't great but it wasn't as bad as Ole Miss, but nothing is.

the last time I went to that bowl, I think I took a courtesy bus from the hotel (an approved one for the bowl a few years ago) and did not have to drive my car after I checked in. I would suggest that next time. Unfortunately I was unable to go this time although Memphis is one of my two favorite teams, one of the places I went to school.

Parking was a joke.

We parked in the parking lot of a crack house just NW of the stadium. Loked like a small apartment complex - windows boarded up and there were holes in the brick wall where you could tell that people lived UNDER the building. Paid $20 to a guy that probably had no right to be charging for that property. I would have never parked there if we would have been there after sunset, but I figured it'd be daylight and a lot of people around, so what the heck.

This was after we tried to park on the SW side of the stadium in Lot J. There were numerous spots available, but the entrance was chained off. We then went to the NW side and tried to get in Lot K and it's entrance was chained off.

This has to be THE WORST bowl game venue that there is and we should never agreento play there again (unless it is our ONLY choice). Especially to play a virtual home game against an SEC team.

We have it VERY GOOD at Liberty Bowl Stadium. I wish we'd gone to the Liberty Bowl.

If we play in the Birmingham Bowl again, I will probably park somewhere in or near Lexington, Tennessee.

The guy I rode with has legit handicap credentials for his car. We talked to a Cop and asked how to get to lot F where the HC spaces were located. She called and made sure there were plenty. When we got there they had it closed and said it was full. I asked them about the spots that were clearly marked HC and were empty. "Oh, those were sold to VIPs." They sold HC spots! We let out those that needed in front and spent another 45 minutes parking and walking to our seats.

All together, we left our hotel 3 miles from the stadium at 8:30. I sat down in my seat when the national anthem was just starting.

The stadium is atrocious. The neighborhood is as bad as I have seen around any stadium. The traffic was as badly handled as I have ever seen. And we were embarrassed on the field.

And I'm still glad I made trip.

the Birmingham Bowl is an embarrassment to bowl games

It's a shakedown unique to Legion Field. I've parked with my family on a side street for Tigers games my entire life and have never had such a problem. There's nothing you can do about it if you want to park there. I've heard stories (not apocryphal) of people whose tires were slashed or cars broken into when they didn't pay and others in their groups did pay and didn't have any problems.

We ended up parking in what appeared to be an abandoned school about a mile away and that's after sitting in traffic for a legit hour and moving like 50 feet. We just gave up and parked there. There were 2 chicks roaming around the parking lot trying to get people to give them $5 to park but nobody was and they were getting a little testy.
