It would be neat to have "all conference teams" place each other in a yearly exhibition game at the end of the season (after bowls).
The teams involved could be the "all SEC team," the "all Pac team," the "all B1G team," the "all Big XII team," the "all ACC team,' and the "all g5 team." And, the teams could be coached by the coaching staff that won the conference, or, in the case of the g5 team, the coaching staff from the g5 NY6 representative.
The proceeds could be split evenly 10 ways (all FBS conferences get an even split) and they could rotate so that everyone hosts everyone else once every 10 years. Additionally, the games could be played on stadiums of member schools and/or neutral sites.
It probably wouldn't make a lot of money, but I feel like it would be a fun experience for the players, and it would be pretty fun to watch. Also, I know it would increase the injury risk, but I don't think that would be much of an issue because I don't see too many players taking/giving hard hits in exhibition games. The issue could be further mitigated by making the game voluntary.
It would also probably be a little sloppy because the coaches obviously wouldn't have a ton of time to put in a system, the players wouldn't be chosen with the system in mind, and there wouldn't be much practice time. But since it would be an exhibition, I think that the players could just run basic plays and have a god time (i.e. the Pro Bowl).

NCAA would have a field day about "student athletes" needing to be in the classroom, but this sounds cool.

I thought about that, but it would be in the off season and only for a pretty brief period of time. It wouldn't be all semester long or anything. You might be right, though.

Football is too violent a game to have meaningless games played. IF such a game was played, it would have to be played like the pro-bowl, where the rules are stripped as much as possible to make the game safe, but then again it is boring as hell.
I don't think we will see college football exhibitions, as the trend is to go for less meaningless games, not more.
