AAC POY - 5018Calhoun - 11-28-2015 01:31 PM

I know there are a few games left to play but here are my choices.

Off POY - Reynolds (Navy) - I don't think I need to put up his stats as it seems every week he sets some sort of record.

Def POY - E. Roberts (LB - HOU) - Leads conf in tackles, TFL, tied for 5th in sacks

Special Teams POY J. Elliot (K - MEM) - 53/53 in extra point, 8/9 40-49, 1/1 50 plus, tied for longest FG on the season.

As much as I would like to say Lynch (Memphis) for Off POY, I can't disagree with your list

I agree with your picks, with Ward as MVP.

I don't remember if the AAC does it's awards like CUSA used to but the I think a Tulsa QB won Off POY and Keenum won MVP. I always thought that was kind of stupid but it's not like that kept me up at night. I also don't like going automatically with a QB. I did look at receiving and Rushing before I put my list together.

It's just a way to get more players recognition. The AAC hasn't done it in the past, but perhaps they can start. Reynolds and Ward obviously both deserve it.

If they don't do an MVP, I don't have a problem giving Reynolds OPOY, and Ward being 1st-team All-AAC, or vice versa.

Lynch just tied the record for most td passes in a half with seven. Only had like 11 completions, that's crazy. So many good QBs in this league.

I would think Matakevich being one of 3 finalists for the Bednarik Award would mean something, but we'll see.

No joke. Here we are discussing POY, and we hadn't even mentioned the likely #1 pick in the upcoming draft.

Ward or Lynch.

temple's LB is going to get DPOY..virtual lock at this point

Offensive will depend on the CCG...IMO right now reynolds and paxton are probably ahead
(reynolds by a litle for #1) but if ward dominates the CCG i think he can jump them, maybe even get an invite to new york

RE: AAC POY - GLinPa - 11-28-2015 02:02 PM

No offense to any of the good to great QBs in this conference, but I have to think that the position is going to slip in draft prestige. Too many first-round flameouts.

The TU player you're referring to (I believe) is GJ Kinne who's QB coach was current SMU head coach Chad Morris.

I don't know what class the Houston kid is, but I could see a senior taking it. Tyler is not too shabby of a choice.
