Doesn't appear Jindal was running.

Yeah unseats isn't the right word here. But a Democrat winning a Governor's race in a southern state is significant. I guess the anti-Jindal sentiment is bigger than the anti-Obama sentiment.

RE: Breaking: Democrat unseats Bobby Jindal - Smaug - 11-21-2015 11:37 PM

I don't know how significant it is. Louisiana politics are weird. And sleazier than Alabama's (if that's possible).

The dude who lost got busted for buying hookers in 2007. How he even got nominated is beyond me.

Is he a liberal Democrat or a blue dawg?

True. Looks like Edwards is rock solid on 2nd amendment gun ownership rights, Anti Abortion, Anti Common Core, West Point Grad and Infantry Captain, Catholic, clearly not a whack job progressive.

Need more blue dogs. Also need republicans that font pander to evangelicals. Both parties have been hijacked and moved to the extremes.

Obama is already sending warning notices to Edwards. Get with the program or lose funding for Your State. Can't have a conservative Democrat, Ever again.

A moderate Democrat that is loads better than vitter and jindal. Everyone should be happy here.

Vitter wasn't "nominated". He came in second place in a non-partisan, multi-candidate primary in which no candidate received 50% of the total vote. So he, along with the first-place candidate, advanced to a run-off, and now Vitter has been defeated in that run-off. Good.

Vitter and Jindal, by the way, have openly hated each other for a long time. Jindal not only refused to endorse Vitter, he wouldn't even say which candidate he voted for after he submitted his ballot about 10 days ago. Several Republican members of the Louisiana legislature endorsed the Democrat, Mr. Edwards, who is not -- so far as I can tell -- related to the notorious dirtbag and convicted felon Edwin Edwards, who was elected Governor of Louisiana in 1971, 1975, 1983, and 1991.

The guy voted for tax cuts for the wealthy, the NRA loves him, he is anti-abortion, etc. etc. Pretty much the bane of existence for any progressive liberal.

He also promises to uphold the Constitution and rulings of the Supreme Court. So we'll be fine.

I'm just now finding out, but anyway --

Vitter didn't just lose the election, he was crushed by about 56-44. He has announced that he will resign his seat in the US Senate and (I guess) not seek elective office again. We can only hope.

He sounds a lot like WV's Joe Manchin who is Republican in all views but his stance on unions. I think Edwards won by running on many Republican values.

He is probably to the right of Graham, Pataki, Kasich, and Jeb.

Famous Edwin Edwards quote: "all politicians are crooks you might as well vote an experienced one"

Another: Edwards quote: "I only will steal 5%, the other candidates will steal 10%"

Which BTW are the views of Most Americans !04-cheers People are sick of the Left wing Circus groups. Democrats can win if They fall back to traditional American values, and follow Them. Not what the newly radical left DNC tells Them to do!
