UCF recruiting - CougarRed - 10-12-2015 03:42 AM

I see that UCF only has 4 commitments.

This is the first class in five years where they can sign 25.

Will they find 25 kids willing to sign up for that dumpster fire?

If so, will any of them be top prospects?

RE: UCF recruiting - ArmoredUpKnight - 10-12-2015 04:47 AM

New coach will have a clean slate to work with.

RE: UCF recruiting - firmbizzle - 10-12-2015 05:17 AM

This is damning and the reason that GOL should be fired. The program is garbage and the only way to fix it is with recruits. GOL will not be able to get recruits. He's pissed off so many local coaches he can't get local kids.

I have been saying this over and over, people seem to think that next year will be better. They fail to realize that we have to recruit new players and who in the hell wants to play for that idiot.

RE: UCF recruiting - SublimeKnight - 10-12-2015 08:17 AM

We have 25 silent commits 03-shhhh

RE: UCF recruiting - uhcoog27 - 10-12-2015 08:35 AM

That is a shockingly low number.

I really don't see Hitt firing GOL and his staff. If they go 0-12, we might hear "we're considering possible changes at the end of next season if things don't change"

RE: UCF recruiting - pesik - 10-12-2015 09:31 AM

expect a large number of unranked goergia recruits by seasons end..likely finishes in the 90-95 range nationally

RE: UCF recruiting - jaredf29 - 10-12-2015 09:59 AM

Here's the interesting thing, he blames recruiting and the kids for not doing what they're supposed to do for this year. But if you're a kid, why would you want to play for a guy who doesn't take any sort of responsibility and is quick to throw the student athletes under the bus?

You wouldn't, prospective players see what's happening, the only possible way i can see a good prospect coming is if they are good enough to start right away because our depth sucks. Other than that, i see them avoiding UCF like the black plague

You might get a couple of those (top prospects looking for immediate playing time). The problem will be the good 3* guys, the bread and butter of a good team. They'll look at the situation and see that a bunch of freshman and sophomores have a season of playing time under their belts. That means it'll be an uphill battle to get 1 or 2 seasons of playing time.

That is the only positive that I see from this entire scenario all of these freshmen that are playing right now at some point are going to start being good and stop making the stupid freshman mistakes. I look for their senior year for all those freshmen to be a title conference contention year.

Yep and then I think, if GOL gets fired and whole new coaching staff comes in, most of these kids will get relegated behind the new coach's recruits. The whole situation sucks and there's no easy (#FireGOL) or good (#O'pologist) answers.

GOL took ucf to their best years ever...was good as early as last year...GOL only leaves if its by choice.....he isnt getting fired

common sense is how...
2 conference championships, 1 top 10 season, the best year sin ucf history .... first bad year after that fire him?

exactly, its his decision...in 7 years you guys are going to be talking about a statue of him

bill yoeman at houston shouldnt have coached his last 3 years, but we werent going to fire our greatest coach. we just had to wait till he decided he wanted to retire..and a few years later pretend like those last few years didnt happen

double the bad news day for me

1. O'leary stepped down as interim AD..... which means that he plans on coaching through the season and possibly beyond

2. Will Grier just tested positive for performance enhancing drugs and is suspended for a year.

WTF
