Crowd Composition/Attendance for Oct. 17th - MtownTigers916 - 10-06-2015 09:08 AM

I am going to say a full house and it's a sell-out, but tickets won't be terribly hard to come by given the morning kick-off and the rebels screwing the pooch. 47k Tiger fans, 12k OM fans. I feel pretty certain that will be very close to the crowd breakdown.

I don't think there will be 59k in the stadium. I'm guessing 55k or 56k.

I'd say 55k including band/students.

I imagine the black bears will claim 30k as their own, with the actual split being 10k/45k.

RE: Crowd Composition/Attendance for Oct. 17th - Atlanta - 10-06-2015 09:17 AM

Ok, I keep seeing 59K as the capacity but the LB website says 61K. Whatever it is, I think it's sold out.

I'd also figure on more Ole Miss fans than that. The Grove is kinda quaint, but Beale Street it ain't.

Crowd Makeup: 44 us, 15 Old Southerners

42 Memphis......15 Carpetbaggers

Historically, that's an extremely accurate statement.

A lot of Ole Miss fans are having second thoughts about the game after last weekend. Early kickoff. Real chance they could lose. And what they perceive as obnoxious Memphis fans pumped up for their "super bowl ". Amazing the cold feet after the Florida game and how many are all of a sudden opting to watch it on ABC. Will be really surprised if they bring 15k.

59,820 75% us 25% them.

Yup. And apparently, our resident Ole Miss fan, btiger, has already backed out, claiming a time conflict.

I think if we are at 50,000 on 10/16 (not counting students and walk-ups) it's very possible we'll have an announced sell-out. If we're at that mark the day before, I believe "the powers that be" will be scrambling to make sure there are 60k tickets sold.

57,200

42,700 in blue (74.7%)

14,500 in rad (25.3%)

(As the ABC announcers say, "about a 50 - 50 crowd here in Memphis- a town full of Ole Miss fans and alums."

I predict the Black Bears will be in sufficient number to mitigate our home field advantage (eg. cheer loudly for their defense on third down) and given praise by the TV announcers.

Carpetbagger: A person from the northern states who went to the South after the Civil War to profit from the Reconstruction. A person perceived as an unscrupulous opportunist. In reality, a bunch of Yankees.
Scalawag: A white Southerner who collaborated with northern Republicans during Reconstruction, often for personal profit. The term was used derisively by white Southern Democrats who opposed Reconstruction legislation.
My guess is Oxford was home to both groups.

It's funny how a little research can tell you a lot about a city.....like Oxford. It was, in reality, the home of numerous Carpetbaggers and Scalawags. Even the OXFORD EAGLE newspaper wrote a story on it three weeks ago. Yes.....those Oxford people ARE just a bunch of Carpetbaggers and Scalawags and this story proves it. So, next time you see an OM fan, remind them of this and hand them a copy of this article. http://www.oxfordeagle.com/2015/09/13/carpetbaggers-and-scalawags-invade-oxford-after-civil-war-to-find-a-land-of-opportunity/#

150k easy!

Don't know what Ole Miss will have so, I won't include their numbers in the totals.

RE: Crowd Composition/Attendance for Oct. 17th - Mimi - 10-06-2015 08:33 PM

Those Northern bastards. Especially those helping to enforce the 14th and 15th amendment. Equality!!?? Get them out of here!!

Gotta be a first. My dislike for ole miss is well known but even I won't stoop to calling them yankees. That's just going too far
