Hope y'all are able to get this done. You've got to much going for you to be stuck where you are.

JMU made $425,000 for its trip to SMU. A FBS team will normally receive in excess of $1,000,000 for an away game at a power 5 opponent. JMU2FBS.

Per Jeff Sagarin's ratings, JMU is currently ranked higher than:

5 AAC teams
1 Big 10 team
1 Big 12 team
9 CUSA teams
8 MAC teams
5 MWC teams
8 Sun Belt teams

They're all jealous of our challenging OOC schedule as well.

Has there been a jump since last night?

We had half a dozen new pledges and 40 new unique visitors (150+ total visits) over the last 24 hours. I'll post an updated pledge total tonight. There are a number of folks who have registered but not pledged (curiosity seekers, middle of the fence, etc) but I'll be sending out an email newsletter this week to all registrants to urge them to pledge for for everyone to keep spreading the word.

Thank you to all new and past pledgers!

Just pledged on jmu2fbs site. Let's hope this win kick starts this campaign. Sending links to alumni I know do not follow our board. Hope to have 4 more commit to 2500 5 year pledges (4x2500=10,000).

Please pledge and get people in your network to pledge. The BOV meets on 10/9 and it would be nice to arm them with $1,000,000 in pledges.

It's crucial for the Board of Visitors to support COA despite Alger's ill timed published opinion that may irreparably impact the future of JMU athletics.

Honest question that I wonder if anyone has actually considered...doesn't the jmu2fbs campaign marginalize the efforts being made to raise support for the new convocation center, which in and of itself is likely a huge piece of being able to attract a conference? I just have to wonder whether or not the collective zeal for moving to fbs isn't at least somewhat hindering our ability to raise funds toward a vision that has already got some legs underneath it that might be a prized piece of allowing us to move up in the ranks anyway.

Just a thought.

I can't speak for everyone, but I considered it and felt that the push for accepting a FBS offer while one is apparently available should be a higher priority.

Going FBS should be a priority over building a new arena and if anyone doesn't think this way then that person really doesn't want FBS. There simply is no need for an arena if we aren't playing FBS football and paying at least some portion of COA which includes MBB.

RE: Mmmm... FBS tastes goooood. You likey? - BleedingPurple - 09-27-2015 07:07 PM

We've played four football games and the first three we killed the opponents and had virtually no post game thoughts as compared to the other game we played. We successfully kept two in-game threads going for the one FBS game we played. The president of the University wore a stupid cowboy hat at one game. We've had more excitement surrounding the program over the past 24 hours than we have had after any other event since the VA Tech game. To answer this thread's question, yes we likey and want some more, we now have Norfolk State to look forward to in the future. Ya think our president will come up with a cool costume to wear when in Norfolk? I say we make our AD wear the stupid hat for that game.

Even if one is quite possibly predicated on the other? Didn't the Carr Report (regardless of how good or bad we feel that thing was) say that an updated convo was crucial to an FBS move? If I'm an FBS conference, I'm not taking JMU solely based on their potential value in football. I'm looking at the complete package, a big part of which will be dictated by having some of the very best facilities in a future FBS conference.

Since when did JMU start taking the Carr report into consideration?
