Just saw where Jose Jr's son, Trei Cruz, has commited to play baseball at Rice. He's in the class of 2017 and currently playing for Matt Fox at Episcopal. Jose has moved back to Houston and is working for the Major League Players Association.

Switch hitter with speed. Had offers from UT, Stanford, UCLA, LSU and Washington.
Not surprising given the family heritage at Rice, but a HUGE get....and unlike other elite prospects, he's very likely to matriculate.

Yep. I can remember when Jose came to the Astros from St. Louis in 1975. I was a Sophomore. He was a doubles machine in the Dome. Time flies.
