Black out for South October 3rd in "Battle for the Belt" - Atlanta Trojan - 09-22-2015 02:18 PM

New black uniforms and chrome helmets for the team will be debut. And First 10,000 fans will receive a free Black out Tshirt for the game.

Post game concert for the students as well from what I've heard

"Battle for the Belt" is the name of the rivalry given by both Troy and USA SGA's apparently

So is this a trophy game and the trophy is a belt, or do ya'll think this game determines the conference champion? If it is a trophy, do you have a pic of it?

Probably a Trophy created by the two schools...and No I dont have a picture....Im thinking some type of actual Belt as a trophy.

It's a soft rivalry. Not a full fledged one. We haven't played enough games yet. Don't mistake what that means. This is an instate opponent that every Troy fan really, really, wants to beat. Don't believe the guys who are just "meh" about this game. A lot on the line here.

I was at the game two years ago (AKA Heatstroke in the Wiregrass).

Black doesn't seem like a great idea.

It's a very soft rivalry. I don't think we have any active rivals right now... MUTS gone, UAB gone for now, with USA (basically UAB in disguise this season) being currently available they will have to do for now. However, since USM is on our future schedule now, I hope we can develop a rivalry with them pretty soon. I still remember how they beat us in OT a few years ago, that was a dramatic game... actually would be cool having a threeway rivarly with USM and USA going on...
