I saw it this morning. I have no idea what could be considered offensive about the routine.

RE: So, is the cheerleading 9/11 routine "offensive"? - HeartOfDixie - 09-15-2015 09:06 AM

I don't think it is offensive. It is cringeworthy though.

It's more like a 21 gun salute with a Minions fart gun.

Cheerleading just isn't a medium for any sort of tribute.

"Cheerleaders are dancers who have gone retarded." BTW, my fiancee is a cheer coach.

Awesome ! Anyone offended by American Patriotism Should Just find another place to live ! Those Young ladies are to be commended for a very symbolic routine showing We have risen back from disaster of 9/11

I hadn't seen any offensive comments but I don't dwell typically into the comments sections of internet videos. You could put a video of Mother Theresa feeding the homeless and some internet dweeb would say something negative about it. I wouldn't put much stock in anonymous comments.

The video was nice, the routine was nice. I'm not sure it was the most patriotic thing I've ever seen but I appreciate their effort. I was most impressed in the video by the one cheerleader tumbling skills who was a little bit chubbier than the other cheerleaders (there, now I've gone ahead and posted my negative comment).

Awesome routine.

BTW, Lee Greenwood who wrote the song, is Canadian. Even he could appreciate the awesomeness of the gold old USA!04-cheers

Disgusting. Not one person of color in that squad.

Not offensive... But cheesy as hell.

The only part that seemed to express the solemn occasion was the first minute when they stood still with their heads bowed. Once they started "cheering" it all went downhill from there and became laughable.

Don't get me wrong, it was a well done performance. But as someone posted earlier, a Cheer just doesn't seem like the best vehicle for the message.

Seems cheesy, but no more cheesy than thanking god for catching a touchdown pass.

If You watch it though it's like a lot of moves they make represent the toppling of the towers, The Chaos afterward, then the solemn moment before the rebuilding, and the rising up again in the choreography or at least that was My take on the different movements and progression of it.

I think you mean lack of race. In a country as diverse as the United States, a cheerleader squad should never look like that.

Still at it I see. Not everything HAS to be about race.

He's just a troll, don't feed him.

RE: So, is the cheerleading 9/11 routine "offensive"? - Hitch - 09-15-2015 01:59 PM

What does this routine have to do with 9/11 specifically, other than just saying it's dedicated to 9/11?

RE: So, is the cheerleading 9/11 routine "offensive"? - JDTulane - 09-15-2015 02:02 PM

A little odd to have a cheerleading routine tribute like this but it was well executed and harmless. Kudos to these students for caring. I found nothing offensive about it.

Fitbud is a moron. That post was ridiculous.

It's a town of 12,000 people.... 97.64% White in the 2000 census.

Seriously. The **** is wrong with you?
