I think Tech fans are more worried about B12 imploding and big bro leaving them behind than to come back and gloat on here...but then again there were some real a$$ hat fans...

Dear Bearcat#1:
You must be young. Coach Tuberville will do just fine at UC. He will have some great years and he will have some off years. If you think UC is going to go 10 & 2 or better every year, your smoking the wrong stuff. That's not realistic.

He's 60. Time is running out.

Also, why exactly isn't 10 wins a realistic expectation in the American conference? UC should be comfortably 2-0 right now.

One loss is not the end of the world or the season.

Dear MrP:

You must be smoking something or on meds. However, you seem to know absolutely nothing of UC Football. 10 wins is the standard here now. 10 wins, in this conference, is definitely a reasonable goal.

John Wooden and Dean Smith were in their 70's and so was Tom Landry O'Leary and many other older winning coaches and they did just fine. Age has nothing to do with having a winning program. Recruiting, Recruiting and Recruiting have everything to do with building a winning program. Coach Tubs will do just fine at UC. I would love to be an Asst. Coach under Coach Tuberville. As I said before you must be young.

Landry wasn't exactly setting the world on fire at the end of his career.

Why can Boise State do it then? Why do you somehow think UC is immune to the same expectations?

That said, I will never give those yahoos from Lubbock credit for anything, the way they've poisoned UC boards in the past. NFW.

Because of the competition. Long term UC will do just fine. We will have some great years under Coach Tubs and we will have some off years. That's just life.

You're asking why its unrealistic to expect us to produce the same results as Bosie? Arguably the most successful program of the last couple years?

I have high expectations too...but you can't reasonably expect us to replicate what Bosie has done. Would it be nice? Absolutely. Should we still hold similar standards? Sure. But to expect that kind of production is unfair.

Woulda, shoulda's and coulda's don't count. What is, is. Your playing Div.1 football with 18 yr. old kids. Sometimes they make silly mistakes.

28 games in including 2 bowl blowouts, exactly which big game coaching performance do you point to in support of that? I hope you are right. I really do. But I base what I believe on what I see, not what I hope,

What the hell are you talking about? Wooden and Smith were not in their 70's. Both retired in their mid-60's. Landry was fired in his mid-60's as well.

When you get older, it becomes harder to get things done across the board.

Very few have the ability to coach once they enter their 60's and those that do show obvious signs of decline in their performance as the years add on (see: Bobby Bowden).

Please expand upon "Because of the competition." The comment is extremely vague as are all of your comments.

You could probably add Lou Holtz as an example, when he was at SC. Also, add Paterno or Knight in bball.

I think others on this board adequetly dealt with your BS post. I need say nothing more.

Holtz did a solid job laying the foundation and even had a couple good years before Spurrier took over. You could tell that he was tired of it all though.

Knight's a great comparison, as he just worn down from 5 decades of coaching.

Paterno really was just a figurehead at the end compared to most college coaches. I still don't think he was fully aware of a lot of things that went on.

Why can't I? We have equal to superior means and facilities. We have a coach who's now been here three years, longer than theirs.

I expect nothing less than to be IN THE MIX for an access spot every year (and the ability to be in that mix this year has already taken a huge hit). Seems nothing unfair about it to me.
