CLEVELAND, Ohio – Local girls basketball players Corrione Cardwell of East Tech and Nailah Mitchell of Shaker Heights announced Thursday that are verbally committing to Eastern Michigan.

The two members of the Lady’s First Basketball Academy AAU program made their announcement in honor of coach Ourtney Bryant's birthday.

“We wanted to thank him for everything that Ourtney has done for us,” Mitchell said.

Last season, Mitchell and Cardwell were both named to the Northeast Ohio All-Northeast Lakes District team and have more than 55 Division I college offers combined.
