The Wyndham (thread) -- The Big Cat Commits - TIGERBANDIT - 08-18-2015 09:23 PM

Well, the Major Championship season may be over, but there is still so much to play for as the Tour heads to Greensboro, North Carolina this week.

Players in the field will be jockeying for position to either make the FedEx Cup Playoffs next week or improve their position. This is the last week, of course, until the playoffs begin.

The pretournament story this week is that Tiger Woods is in the field for the first time at Sedgefield. So, this will hopefully make the week of golf watching even more exciting.

In order to make the first round of the playoffs next week, Woods needs either to win this week in Sedgefield or a solo second..... No matter what you think of the Big Cat he definitely helps to sure our collective post-PGa hangovers.....

Camillo Villegas defends this week ...

Former No. 1 ranked players in the field this week include Luke Donald, Martin Kaymer, (GREAT SCOTT) Adam Scott and Ernie Els.

Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tiger shoots an opening round of 6 under.

Is he back????

Or is this another week similar to the Greensrier or the Quickins??????

It does appear like the scoring is low in Greensboro ......

But a win would pretty cool for the game, indeed
And help him get a little closer to Sneed

-------------------------------------------------------

Also, keeping an eye on the U.S. Am taking place in Chicago....
Good to see Joe Buck and Greg Norman getting some more work for the Fox Golf team.....

I am pulling for Maverick McNealy just because I like his name .....

Does anyone even care about Eldrick anymore?

If he wins again, they sure will....

There's nothing better than Tiger being in contention on Sunday and losing to Phil.

RE: The Wyndham (thread) -- The Big Cat Commits - TIGERBANDIT - 08-21-2015 03:13 PM

Oh my goodness!!! Tiger just sank a long putt to go to 9 under......He's still got some more holes to play, and could possibly be in the final group come the weekend.

But perhaps this week will belong to Davis Love III. DLIII is at 10 under and in the clubhouse and one shot behind Hoge. Love, a two time champion in Greensboro, is 51 years old and is hoping to be the third oldest winner ever on the PGA Tour. Incidentally, the oldest winner was Sam Sneed, also in Greensboro.

BAM!!!

The Eagle has landed.

Tiger is tied for the lead at 11 under!

This tournament will get better ratings than Sunday at the PGA Championship.

RE: The Wyndham (thread) -- The Big Cat Commits - TIGERBANDIT - 08-21-2015 11:18 PM

Yeah, but the PGA Championship winner has true history ....

True golf fans know the difference ......

RE: The Wyndham (thread) -- The Big Cat Commits - TIGERBANDIT - 08-21-2015 11:57 PM

In the end, Tiger Woods' legacy can be seen in the faces of all the great African-American golfers on the tour today.

RE: The Wyndham (thread) -- The Big Cat Commits - TIGERBANDIT - 08-22-2015 03:33 PM

Tiger is looking real sharp through 12 holes Saturday. He is making all of his short putt. He is two-under for the day, and he trails Jason Gore who leads at 14 under.

Nice early round by Jonas Blix.

Snedecker, Schwartzell lurking

RE: The Wyndham (thread) -- The Big Cat Commits - TIGERBANDIT - 08-22-2015 05:16 PM

That three putt on the 18th sure hurts Tiger....but he was bound to miss one of those eventually.

Jason Gore now leads the tournament by two strokes at 15 under. I just don't see Gore winning, though.

I think Tiger is still in pretty good shape, judging by the names of those in contention. I really liked how he putted.

Look out for Sneds to go really low tomorrow.

RE: The Wyndham (thread) -- The Big Cat Commits - TIGERBANDIT - 08-23-2015 12:47 PM

And here we go.....

Red Shirt (Check)

Activated Glutes (Check)

Talk to Steiny (Check)

Will the Big Cat get his 80th win today at the Wyndham?

Perhaps, or will the day by full of club tosses and GD curses??????

RE: The Wyndham (thread) -- The Big Cat Commits - TIGERBANDIT - 08-23-2015 01:24 PM

Scott Brown makes an ace on the third hole to move to 15 under as Tiger watches on!!!

Brown is tied with DL3 and Jason Gore.

RE: The Wyndham (thread) -- The Big Cat Commits - TIGERBANDIT - 08-23-2015 03:08 PM

Tiger is done!

He chips a SHANKapontamous on 11........ He either forgot to Activate his Glutes or needs to work on his Feels....

Now, only the true golf fans are left.

DL3's got an Eagle putt to get to 17 under......

Scott Brown and Jason Gore still in good shape......

RE: The Wyndham (thread) -- The Big Cat Commits - TIGERBANDIT - 08-23-2015 03:10 PM

The Eagle has landed for DL3!!!!

Will the Ryder Cup Captain win at age 51???????

RE: The Wyndham (thread) -- The Big Cat Commits - TIGERBANDIT - 08-23-2015 04:14 PM

It's looking like the17 under may hold up for Love...

Blixt is OB

RE: The Wyndham (thread) -- The Big Cat Commits - TIGERBANDIT - 08-23-2015 05:14 PM

And Gore's lengthy putt on the 18th barely misses!!!

Congratulations to Davis Love III. His third victory at the Wyndham and his 21st on the PGA Tour.... I bet Davis is voted in this year in the World Golf Hall of Fame!!!....... At 51 years of age and two big surgeries, this was perhaps one of his best accomplishments!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

----------------------------------------

Congratulations as well to Bryson DeChambeau for winning the United States Amateur!!!!!!

With his unique style, I think we may be looking at a great professional when the young SMU grad decides to turn pro!!!!!

RE: The Wyndham (thread) -- The Big Cat Commits - Tiger46 - 08-25-2015 10:38 AM

That was a good tournament. I like being able to DVR those and watch at night fast fwd thru the crap. I really thought Jason was going to pull that out. Pressure is a killer.

Congrats to DLIII, a 64 on Sunday is clutch.
