Man, Jeff Hill is looking like he's gonna be quite the stud. Every time he's mentioned it's been very positive. I'm not sure he'll play this season, but he appears to have a pretty high ceiling.

I believe that Hill is the guy who said, after he went to a camp at THE Ohio State University, and I'm paraphrasing here, Urban Meyer told him he would have offered him but Urban didn't think he was tall enough. Hill definitely has a chip on the shoulder about being passed over by the biggies. DB's seem to be a strength of this years team and he's going to have to be awfully good to get on the field.

Reminds me of a certain safety from NIU.

He's like 5-8, do we have anyone on defense that short other than him?

Lurry's only 5'8" as well. Logan and Olootu are each only an inch taller.

Whats the purpose of the Roshambo brackets?

Whoever wins gets to start at QB against Murray State.

Appears to be "rock ( not Lemon) paper..scissors".
I'm guessing it's just for fun...

Rock Paper Scissors best of 3

I asked the same thing...still don't get what Roshambo means.

RE: Training Camp - Articles - NIUSAE - 08-11-2015 05:08 PM

Probably no purpose other than summer camp silliness, throw a little lighthearted fun into the grind of camp, competition and an egalitarian opportunity to win. Offense vs defense bragging rights.

What is Roshambo? Where's Waldo?

RE: Training Camp - Articles - Doggone - 08-11-2015 05:49 PM

Roshambo is a name for Rock, Paper, Scissors.

I have never heard of someone call the game that word...actually I have never heard/read that word before.

No surprises here, but the coaches say they will use running back by committee this season. I'm interested in seeing how well KHJ plays. I remember him looking pretty good before he went down last year.

Definitely will be an interesting year at RB and as always I am sure health will gradually determine who is the main back by Week 6 or 7. Its probably hard to not go by committee with all the backs NIU has right now, the only thing I hate about QB or RB by committee, is that all of a sudden 2/3rd of the year is over, and you ask yourself "What is the identity of this offense, who can we count on it in crucial situations" I really believe there is value in having some consistency.

My prediction is Huff will be the guy by the second quarter of the season. A big reason Wolfe didn't get any looks early on was because his practice effort left much to be desired. I think once he gets that confidence that he will see the field maybe his practice effort will increase. Just from his little PT he reminds me of Chad Spann minus the relentless work ethic. Chad gave everything during each practice. Hopefully Huff can get on track.

RE: Training Camp - Articles - Cowboy95 - 08-12-2015 12:13 AM

I agree. Huff is the only guy I have seen who I think has the potential to be a star. Granted, his PT has been extremely limited but every time I have seen him carry the ball I thought he had a chance to break it for a TD. I'm hoping there has not been much talk about him from the staff because they are trying to keep him somewhat of a surprise against the first few teams on the schedule rather than him not working hard in practice. Although, I seem to remember hearing some rumors that he was having trouble with the playbook last year (or I could be totally making that up - I'm getting old, and it's late).

RE: Training Camp - Articles - klake87 - 08-12-2015 06:38 AM

Huff looks the part but will he play the way he looks
