MEAC strikes deal with ESPN to show Half-Tiime Performances. - Bigtom12 - 07-03-2015 08:31 AM

How would yall feel if ESPN 3 showed Sunbelt Conference half-time performances? I personally think this is a great thing, and instead of them talking for 15 minutes during half-time they should show half-time performances. I say we make this happen.

The SBC isn't known for their halftime shows like a lot of HBCU's are. However, I'd rather see our band then listen to ESPN talk about everything else except the game and conferences that are actually on the field.

So basically, we cut a deal with ESPN to watch the Troy band?

While I think the Pride of the Hill Country is an okay band they are not my cup of tea for entertainment. Probably the dancer in me.

I don't get this criticism of ESPN. Its not like they just do this to Sun Belt or G5 schools, they do it on their P5 broadcasts too.

I don't care for self-promos/ads when there are alternatives, such as talking about what just happened in the 1st half and how this game can effect the conferences playing on the field.

The former is nothing but an ad. The latter is some actual sports journalism. ESPN does WAY to much of the former.

I went to a high school where band was more or less frowned upon lol, we might have had 12 people in our band. So TXST's band seems extremely impressive to me. Still wouldn't wanna watch it on TV though.

I would do almost anything in the world to avoid halftime shows by anyone. Clean my toilets, wash dishes, cut my lawn in 99 degree and 90 percent humidity. Yea, not likely to have that last thing going on in football season.
