To go with their existing datacenters in Lenoir, NC and Atlanta, GA and Charleston, SC. And they're rolling out Google Fiber to RDU, CLT, and ATL.

Mercedes is also moving their North American HQ to Atlanta.

BMW is expected to follow Mercedes to the south and will likely end up with the HQ in Atlanta or Charlotte. Either gives good proximity to Greenville operations and I believe both have direct flights to Munich. I know Atlanta having direct flights to Stuttgart played a role in their selection by Mercedes over Raleigh and the other locations being considered.

I'm not going to tap dance on Detroit's grave. That city's failure is something that shouldn't have happened. The big 3 retreating from the South was something the Unions wanted, which opened up the opportunities you listed above. The Great Lakes region should be enjoying similar growth in the automotive sector. Mismanagement and shortsightedness is what doomed them.

Businesses are wise to move their operations out of destitute liberal strongholds and into attractive, business-friendly, fiscally conservative areas.

Evidently that isn't the only reason

New York state couldn't get these same industries despite offering no taxes for ten years.

You have to, Cincy and Ohio gave a blow job to GE who is building a global operations
center here. Did you miss the NY commercials all over the place? Open a business in NY state no taxes for 10 years? Maybe they are a little late, lol.
