Parking no longer free - aardWolf - 06-16-2015 08:28 AM

I got a letter in the mail yesterday from the Athletics department telling me that they will no longer give us free parking. For this year, they're going to "let" me purchase the previously free Red Lot parking for $40. That language means that the price will definitely go up next season (especially if we do well this year.)

Thoughts? I guess it's inevitable if we're going to have a top notch program that things won't always be as cheap as they have been... it just feels like a slimy way to increase ticket prices more than they did to begin with this year.

I have not received the letter. When did you get it?

Everybody else around the Liberty Bowl charges. *IF* we're going to make any run at a P5 invite investments in our sports programs, especially football which is losing big money right now, is an absolute must. Not sure where some expect that money to come from but charging for parking seems like a simple enough start.
