What really sucks is that South and ULL could play in the super regionals, making it impossible to get multiple teams in the WCWS. It was either an oversight during the seeding or a clever step to keep the SBC down. Conspiracy theory anyone???

Looks like the Cajuns have a clear shot at the Super Regionals. USA needs to get past Auburn.

I'm pretty sure they didn't want 2 Sun Belt teams in the WCWS

I don't know, our Regional scares me. Baylor will want revenge since we beat them twice during the season, one by the run-rule. What's sad is Regionals seeded below us have teams with RPI's higher than the Lafayette Regional. I'm sure it's due to Geography.

It was nice during the selection show that the one girl picked Lamson Park in Lafayette as the Best Home Field Advantage which I have to agree with. The other girl picked Cajuns Lexie Elkins as the Breakout Star, if they pitch to her.

What's scary is we have the entire hitting team back next year. They finished the season ranked 7th in batting average at 0.351 and a school record 106 homeruns.

We do lose our 2 Senior pitchers but we do have other good pitchers back next year.

I think the 13th seeded Lafayette Regional is tougher than the following lower seeded Regionals except maybe the Notre Dame Regional. They should have sent Cent Conn St to Lafayette, Binghamton to Georgia, and Weber St to James Madison. On the Selection Show, they thought that the Lafayette Regional was the toughest Regional. I think LSU also has a tough Regional, for a 5th seeded Regional, with No.21 Arizona St and No.41 Nebraska.

13th seeded Lafayette Regional

No.11 UL Lafayette, No.22 Baylor, No.33. Mississippi St, No.84 Weber St

14th seeded Georgia Regional

No.17 Georgia, No.31 Western Kty, No.35 North Carolina, No.115 Cent Conn St

15th seeded James Madison Regional

No.12 James Madison, No.32 NC St, No.47. Fordham, No.108. Binghamton

16th seeded Notre Dame Regional

No.19. Notre Dame, No.24 Kentucky, No.35 Northwestern, No.79 Ball St.

How Notre Dame is hosting a regional is a mystery to me. 19 in RPI, one and done in the ACC tourney, record against RPI top 25/50 isn't great.

The Coach from Baylor wasn't to happy that they weren't hosting a Regional. Their coach said they wanted a tough schedule and played a tough enough schedule, like coming to Lafayette, to be hosting a Regional.

This one won't be easy.

What worries me if I'm a Cajun fan isn't that Louisiana Lafayette can't win that regional, because they could win it easily. But when you play good teams, sometimes it's only a matter of time before they take a game from you. I just hope for the Cajuns' sake that it isn't the case this weekend with Baylor.

Not having your head Coach and motivator in the dugout hurts this team. It happened in Oregon and it happened in San Marcos Saturday. Take you coach out of the park against most top 25 programs and I'd be willing to bet South Alabama comes out on the bad end of the score more often then not. This will be the case this weekend, if Coach Lotief isn't in the dugout we may not make it out of the regional.

Like in both game 3 of the Oregon series and the Sun Belt Championship game, Coach Lotief would have went to the mound and calmed them down, instead the pressure got to them in the 7th inning of both games with 2 outs on the road against Top Teams.

I heard that he was supposed to be in the dugout for the Regionals.

5-0 against Baylor over the last two years.
Baylor needs to worry about winning game 1 against MSU to get a crack at us. MSU is a borderline number 2 for a regional (33 in RPI). Just playing in the SEC helps their RPI though. Still, they aren't that bad.
I know I shouldn't assume a win against Weber St, but after getting shut out in the final on Saturday, I expect to ladies to come out angry and focused.
With the pitching we have at our disposal, I'm just curious who we start for each game. Between Hamilton, Wallace, and Stewart, all are very capable of beating Weber St.
