C-USA got more money than AAC last year?? I assume this payout is due to the bowl game wins that C-USA had along with MWC getting the big payout due to the Access Bowl win.

The article isn't very clear, but my read was that it's due to 11 schools vs. 13 schools. Each AAC school got 10% more than each C-USA school. (And in case it's not clear, this is only the football playoff money, not total conference distributions.)

The interesting thing to me was how little BYU and especially Notre Dame got.

From what I understand, our payout was higher due to our better postseason, but the AAC has two fewer teams with which to split their money. In any case, the increase in payout over the BCS is incredible. Think about how much better it will get when the playoff involves 6-8 teams in the future.
