Anyone hear Wood on with Cattles today? Thoughts on what big tournament we could be landing in in 2016?

I had asked him at the Chesapeake Caravan about the rumor I heard that we were going to the one in Charleston in Nov 2016. He said no about Charleston but in a couple of weeks (as soon as both parties signed) we would hear something. He said it was a "big time tourney"and was extremely excited about it. I asked again last night at the Harbor Park and again he said everyone would be very blown away. Tried my best.... even begged for a hint....groveling got me no where! Today on Cattles he said the location would bring hundreds of fans! If it was the NIT preseason in NYC I think he would of said thousands since that's how many we had at the NIT semi. Any guesses? Mine would be the Battle for Atlantis or Maui? Atlantis is very expensive but Hawaii, even though I'd love to go. would be out of my budget parameters!

Won't be Maui; they've already announced their 2016 field: Chaminade, Connecticut, Georgetown, North Carolina, Oklahoma State, Oregon, Tennessee and Wisconsin.

Atlantis has two teams in their 2016 field: Wichita State and Florida Gulf Coast (they won the Atlantis Mainland tournament in 2012, which earned them a ticket to the good Atlantis tournament).
It's probably the inaugural Kyrgyzstan Invitational.

Alaska Shootout isn't what it used to be, so that's not likely it.
Really, outside Maui and Atlantis, I don't know of a tournament that would "blow everyone away" unless it's the debut of something great.

Its the Commonwealth Classic, governor is making all public and invited private D1 schools in the state to take part in the tournament.

I would LOVE to go to the one in Orlando! Seemed like Mason went there every year in their heyday....yes, I know you can only go to the same tournament every so many years...
That would definitely bring hundreds of ODU fans! I was happy with the Charleston one!

Orlando Classic (formerly Old Spice Classic) or Battle for Atlantis has got to be it. And yes, those are both big time tournaments.

I would be all over the Disney tournament. Find a way to get us a football game at UCF that same weekend and that would be perfect.

That would be my bet. Great tournament that seems to get a CUSA team every year. The players would have a blast at Atlantis, fun place to visit.

If it is Atlantis, I hope they announce it soon so I can start saving up. What a wonderful family vacation that would be. For a family of 4 (3 plane tickets since 1 will be a baby) what would you say? $4,000?

Play in the Bahamas Bowl this winter and make another trip down in November for the Battle for Atlantis.
I think the CUSA ties to the island are becoming clear.

C-USA is technically the host conference in Atlantis. That is why they are guaranteed a slot.

Then that ups the chances that this is what Wood was talking about. Charlotte is C-USA's rep this year, and Central Florida, Memphis, UTEP and UAB also have participated.
