OT: But Guaranteed to Bring Tears to Yours Eyes - Temple Football - sfink16 - 04-27-2015 08:06 AM

Leah Still, the daughter of NFL player Devon Still, has been one of the most inspirational stories of the past year. The 4-year-old had a valiant battle with cancer and recently found out that her cancer is in remission.

ECU did this a few years ago and took a lot of flack on the CUSA board for copying Nebraska. IMO it should be done often and by all schools. If it makes a kid happy, then I'm all for it. Good job Temple.

Did Devon Still intercept ECU or something?

Are you saying they had a kid who battled cancer be part of their spring game?

Which poster are you asking? If the Navy poster, think he is agreeing with the ECU poster. If the ECU, please read it again, he is applauding what Temple did and that more should it as well, just adding the ECU did the same a few years ago with a Kid that had brain cancer, and for some reason some on the CUSA board jumped down our throats saying we copied Neb.

Just saying its a good thing. If every school can do it, then do it.

Some people over analyze everything as if it's about them when it's not.

Great story and great thing for the Owl football coaches to do. She will remember that for the rest of her life.

Ditto for the ECU occurrence.

I appreciate the sentiment that this is a sports board and its easy to dismiss however I found it odd that the focus was moved immediately to what ECU did and what Nebraska fans did.

Leah is her own person and no one else did this before, because this is new to her. Her cancer Neuroblastoma is a terribly nasty disease. Unfortunately 46 kids will be diagnosed with Cancer today and 46 more tomorrow. That would mean every three days every Div-1 team would have to do this for every kid to get to do the same thing.

Her is just one of the many other stories...

VE, it was just general conversation. No one was try to take anything away from Liegh or her fight. We are appauleding the story. But, we were discussing other stories like her's. We were actually pointing out that no was jumping on Temple for doing this like what happened on the CUSA board to ECU fans. We were saying that is a good thing. Now, back to Leigh....
