$506M from the CFP to the 10 FBS conferences - the MAC is #9 - Mark26pt2 - 04-22-2015 12:02 PM

Some interesting stats on the breakout of the CFP payout by conference. The MAC is 9th (out of 10) and just barely above the Sun Belt

Big payout for B1G and not much for MAC

$12 million - less than one million per team (not including the MAC's take). That will almost pay for the necessary facility and equipment costs to get ESPN3 productions up and running for the schools that have no facilities.

Compared to $4.8M for each B1G team

NIU's loss to Marshall lost the MAC 2mil...and a 2mil gain for CUSA.

Also NIU's loss to CMU possibly cost the MAC another 2mil had we been in the access bowl over Boise St/MWC. Then the top two would have possibly looked something like this...

MWC 18.7
MAC 16

Wait for it....but those bowl games don't matter. Still don't get why people think that bowl games don't matter.

The worst P5 conference earned 2.5X the best G5. Imagine if the NFL distributed revenue with this model where the worst NFC division made 2.5X the best from the AFC. We are equal members of FBS and should be treated as such. It's absolutely criminal.

Sorry, but the fact that a distinction exists labeling some P5 and others G5 tells you the G5 are not considered equals and the P5 take every step -- big and small -- to keep it that way.

He didn't say we are considered equals, he said we should be considered equals.
