I have one memory of that stadium and it was not a good one. We took a loss there on a last second field goal back when Dan Williams was at one DE spot and Maurice Bulls at the other. Williams was held repeatedly in that game - and no holding calls made the entire game. On the play that Akron gained enough yards for the last second field goal, Williams had the QB dead to rights on a sack and was literally tackled by one of the two OT's assigned to him. He got up and was a split second from getting the sack anyway. Pass completed, time out, kick the field goal and game is over. The other thing I remember was all of the fans folding up some hand out flyers given at the game and throwing paper airplanes the entire game. The Romper Room Bowl was more fitting than the Rubber Bowl.
