There's a good amount of criticism these days of college basketball. Does the game need a makeover?

Yes. College basketball at the top level is nowhere near as good as it once was. At te mid major level im not sure there is much difference except for a lack of a mid range jump shot in todays game.

All levels of basketball has come under criticism, high school and AAU have big detractors as well. Kobe Bryant went off on America's youth basketball in comparison to European youth basketball.

Overall skills is definitely not at the level it once was, at all levels of basketball. Laying the blame at the feet of college basketball is asinine though. I`m not sure if Mark Cuban is aware, but there are many who think NBA basketball is a terrible product.

I am no college basketball expert by any means. But, wasn't the fast break/running game a bigger part of college basketball in the more recent past? And, as mentioned, the mid-range jump shot plus a more power/muscle offensive game by big men in the paint?
