I like it. Always liked "cadets" better for them. Fits better with Navys "midshipmen".

Agreed. Air Force needs to get with the program.

True --- if you're not the leaders than follow. Air Force needs to admit they're last to this name changing party. I suggest "AF Flyers." Or FlyMen (or FlyPeople). Some others might be the AF Jet Men (or People). The AF MidAirPeople.

I like it too.

Be nice if a new conference affiliation came with the new identity!

Even though competitively they bring nothing to the table, they are the one team that Id add without an issue. I like the military association. Having both of them might actually get Air Force thinking about joining. Id then add Colorado St too.... and then who knows for #16, or stay in pods of 5 (east, midwest and west). To me it would be awesome to be the "American" conference and have all three of the academies.

YES! YES! YES! YES!

I love knights and medieval history, but we are the Cadets! Even if the Black Knights moniker stemmed from the 1940's glory years.

Bringing back the Mule!

Of course, the article chose that game for a picture.

Good for them. I mean I still prefer Navy over Army. (Sorry, Harmon, but my old man was a sailor during the '70s.) But I'm glad they're going back to the "Cadets" nickname.

Completely understandable.

Cadets > Black Knights

About time

I don't blame them one bit. With UCF's increasing success and exposure and Rutgers moving to the Big 10, the term 'Knights' takes third fiddle when associated with Army. Wise decision to go back to a monicker they can call their own.

Man I am glad that UCF changed our name to Knights before other programs started dropping there colors too.

Cadets > Black Knights

I bet a lot of you don't know that USF also had a name change. Yep, used to be the Golden Brahmans.

Cadets > Black Knights

You guys should bring back the Citronauts name. And rebrand yourself UF-Orlando. UFO Citronauts gear would go flying off the shelves.
