Empire - Latilleon - 03-13-2015 03:20 PM

Empire is the hottest network new drama in years.

Any of you watching it?

RE: Empire - BigTigerMike - 03-13-2015 10:24 PM

Black version of 'Dynasty' as the producers and actors called it. Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard outstanding acting is leading the way into making it a huge success. I read that Memphis is second as far as ratings go in the number of people in a particular city that is following it

Have a more than a full time job, 4 kids, a nice big house to keep me busy.

Don't have time to sit around and watch tv.

That's why people have video on demand, nexflix and other alternative media platforms

Yeah precisely. We DVR our favorite shows and watch some On Demand....it's hard to make time to watch them live.

I had low expectations going in, but I'm hooked. It's a weird, rare blend of intelligence and ig'nance.

Sorry to hear you don't have the time to watch the 77 and a half hours plus of Tiger basketball each season.

What was the point of posting to this thread?

I'm an old white woman and really like it! It doesn't get bogged down in details! Ish happens and they move on!
Cookie is my gal!! The actress that plays her is Outstanding.
They're like the Ewings......everyone has a big important title, a big important job, fabulously wealthy, involved in major intrigue, danger&money around every corner and no one ever seems to actually work!! (except be in meetings)<----corporate America has you believe that IS work.
I like It!!

I was offered a free Genie by Direct TV when I had them pick up a few of their units. The lady was going on and on about how great it was. I just told her TV was not that important to me. I guess some people make it part of their lives. I think it's more of a social status thing, people at work like to chat about shows and who watched what, like it's a damn competition.

I was a season ticket holder for 10+ years, as each child came along and work responsibilities changed I decided to give them up. I don't have the opportunity to watch every minute of every game. Lot of the time I'll have it on while I'm working or playing with the kids, but I don't just sit down and watch the game start to finish.

I post using Tapatalk from my phone. I can't tell you the last time I logged on from my desktop.

Usually when I hear the word Empire it has to do with Star Wars. ....That's why I opened the thread.

my point is that those people who have other alternative platforms to watch a show or two don't worship tv because obviously they aren't sitting around waiting for it to come on. They got other stuff to do for certain and they choose to watch it at their own convenience and time.

I fully understand that, I guess I'm old school when it comes to TV.

TV ,whether watching live or later, has become too big of a part in our society.

I just think 99% of it is a waste of time.
