It looks like the Apps had a good bit of offense in those 2 games

Coach Lotief sees these games as games of opportunity and fun with nothing to lose. IOW he is saying we are playing regional type teams that winning or losing will not end or extend the season so go out and have fun.

Bobcats sweep UCONN today: 7-1 and 9-0

USA went 4-0 in the South Carolina Tournament. They beat Marshall 5-3 today and just beat South Carolina 4-1. South Carolina should be a good RPI win later, as they are currently just outside the Top 25.

What a great series with Alabama just pisses me off that the umpires decided the out come of the game. I know we wont win them all but this one hurts. Oh well cant dwell on this game bigger series starting Friday against S Al

GSU softball takes a 4-0 sweep this weekend in the Under Armour invitational FGCU, Eastern Michigan,East Carolina, Villanova. Seems the girls have done well we just don't need to play Auburn anymore.

Alabama takes game 3 from UL 3-2 on a terrible call by the first base umpire which could have decided the game in an awesome series against the #4 and #5 ranked teams.

After UL tied the game at 1-1 in the top of the 6th..
Alabama answered to take the lead in the bottom of the sixth 2-1.. Turner singled and Danielle Richard dropped down a sacrifice bunt, with Richard reaching safely and Turner advancing all the way to third when the first baseman dropped the throw
------------------------------------------
.Lotief protested, to no avail, that Richard interfered with the throw by running inside the base path.“You could argue as long as you want to argue,” Lotief said, “but what I saw is different from what (the umpire) saw. I’m going to watch the video. If the video doesn’t resolve it, it’s what I saw and what he saw.“She was out of the running lane".
--------------------------------------------
It's just sad that the rubber game of the series had to be decided by the first base umpire on such an obvious call instead of being decided by both teams who each fought their butts off. The Alabama runner was well inside the running lane which interfered with the UL first baseman allowing Turner to go to third and the runner to first was called safe.

The correct call should have been the runner (Richard) to first shoulda been out for interfering with the throw to first by being well inside the running lane and the lead runner (Turner) shoulda been sent back to her bag and Alabama wouldn't have scored in the 6th

Well, on to Mobile on what should be another good series against USA.

It's actually worse than just running inside the base line. The throw to first actually hit the runners arm while she was running and knocked the ball away from the first baseman as well.
