Sorry if this has already been discussed, but have you guys completed your 2015 football schedule? If not, any rumors on who will be added. Thanks

Thanks! South Alabama is looking for an opponent and just seeing who's left. Not many teams available on 9/19

I think South Alabama would be a great opponent to schedule.

If we schedule a home and home with South Alabama, that will muck up the Bayou Bucket talks with UH. I wonder if that last game is contingent on UH, and hopefully with some kind of deadline for 2015.

I think the current NC schedule is fine. Since TBA has apparently already agreed to play at HRS without requiring a return game, I'm not sure why we would replace them with someone more demanding.

Although I guess that maybe we already agreed to play a future game TBD @TBA but just fail to show that on the schedule. If that is the case, then replacing TBA with an alternative home and home series would be a wash.

Either way, it is a good idea to make your travel plans to Houston for Sept. 5 ASAP before everything sells out.

RE: 2015 schedule question - jhruzek - 01-16-2015 02:04 PM

When does our conference schedule get released?

RE: 2015 schedule question - Orange County Owl - 01-16-2015 02:04 PM

I will say this ... I have no problem with playing TBA but I want no part of tussling with Open Date.

That is a very stout program who seems to find their way onto everyone's schedule once or twice/year.

Last year, it was early in February. UAB's situation may have thrown a wrench in that time line, but I don't think it takes too long to put together regardless. Look for it to come in the next few weeks.

I'd rather we take on Off Week. They aren't exactly a challenge, but we should have no problem beating Off.

I understand they have yet to lose 04-jawdrop

If we can just beat OFF when we get the chance, I will be a happy camper.

I don't know, beating OFF can be pretty difficult when you have so much on your mind, like plenty of Rice students do.

RE: 2015 schedule question - 4GOwls - 01-16-2015 03:28 PM

Harkening back to my intramural football days in the late '70s, beating OFF wasn't easy at all! (after all, they had a future US Attorney General on the team)

Can we assume you have a "pop up" camper????

There are some rumblings over on our board, James Madison, saying that we are in talks with you guys for a game next season. We would have to adjust a current OOC game to a future season, but I thought one of you guys might want to nose around a little.

I guess try to pick the home game that will draw the most fans to HRS for the one-off.

I guess that would be either AF or ULL, though I don't know when their open dates are.

I could live with an FCS team, given the situation we are in. Better than losing a home game.
