Interesting...

And y'all are wondering why we swooped on the UAB refugees?

It could be a gamble...with bringing in the UAB OC he could show more priority to the UAB players Over the non UAB players. Possibly cause tension?

Chemistry, could be a issue too... It's a lot like bringing in a lot of Juco players to fill holes like we did this past year and you see how that worked out.

Only two of them have been on defense. With only two returning starters on defense, I think you could have a mess on your hands. It's understandable considering those transfers are following your offensive coordinator.

Only one of those three QBs can start and of the other offensive guys, they weren't all starters for UAB. They will help, but this may not be the miracle that was hoped for. The best piece of UAB carcass you guys got was your OC back.

Looking forward to our match up in Troy.

Guarantee you that isn't a good representation of the finishing order.

Except App might win it.

No one said it is... And I would be SHOCKED to see that.

But we could see ULL, and USA drop off some. But not last 2 in the sbc.

Ignore the teams that you know aren't going to be in the top half, and this is what you get. This is more along the lines of what I was talking about not being representative of the finishing order.

1. Appalachian State - 20
41. Arkansas State - 14
80. Georgia Southern - 12
80. Texas State - 12
102. UL Lafayette - 11
127. South Alabama - 5

I agree, Louisiana may end up with Steve Roberts syndrome if they're not careful. Hud has had four straight regular seasons of 8-4. With what the rest of the league looks like, no sure wins from Kentucky, Akron, and LA Tech, I'd expect Hud won't reach 9 wins.

South Alabama is just in a bad position. I wonder if it's due to the original class that started the program graduating. I know they had extended eligibility, but did they play last season?

That's actually pretty close, in my opinion. I might move GS and UL Lafayette up a spot though. I'd tie Texas State and South Alabama.

Seriously.... You know hua?

Just like we "knew" StAte and ULL
Wouldn't be near the top in 2011 and just like we "knew" Ga Southern and App wouldn't.

RE: Phil Steele - 2015 Sun Belt Returning Starters - USAJag2011 - 01-11-2015 02:31 PM

We returned almost everyone last year on offense and were dead last in offensive production in the Sun Belt. It's easy to read too much into this. We lost a lot of people on Defense last year and had one of the better defenses in the Sun Belt this year. We have a pretty strong recruiting class with some guys who can start immediately on defense, and most of our offensive players have had a lot of playing time due to injuries this year. I think we'll be ok.

I can't speak to 2011, but only the incumbents thought GS and App would struggle mightily 04-cheers

Each year is different.... Troy was picked to win the sbc in 2011 when in fact we were 2nd to last and ULL who was picked to be last finished 2nd

I don't buy into results from last year will be the same or even similar from the year before.

It's easier to underachieve than it is to overachieve. Eventually, reloading every year catches up to you. Best of luck in all but one, but I feel you have a hell of a mountain to climb.

Appy love is ridiculous. Team lost at home to Liberty. Until one of those teams they beat at the end of the season prove something, means nothing.

App had a good season. They finished much stronger than they started and I can see why most would think that bodes well for next season.

don't try to use logic with skins. The only time he comes out to post is when he is catching his breath after getting off his knees in front of Sam Baker.

In reality App returns 39 players (not including special teams) with starting experience, 29 with more than 5 starts which includes most of those starting the final 6 games.
