That mid day game killed the ratings

RE: All AAC Bowl Game Ratings - MemTiger90 - 01-09-2015 01:35 AM

That list basically goes from worst game all the way to best game in a pretty good order

Considering the time slot, still not a bad number.

By outcome it does. I thought the ECU game was pretty entertaining despite the loss. Memphis/BYU and Houston/Pitt were awesome outcomes and extremely entertaining.

If you want to see the difference between us and the Mac etc. check out the previous years at Pete bowl ratings

Not a bowl game, but the Army-Navy game got a 4.1 rating (6.26 Million Viewers), better than any of the above bowls.

Is there anyway to compare these numbers to the other left out conferences. In the end, the numbers are more important than anything else.

He was just saying the wins were the best and the losses were the worst

Tough time slot. The St. Pete bowl was at the same time last year

1.27M 2:00 PM ECU Ohio ESPN St. Pete Bowl Monday, Dec. 23 2014
1.32M 2:00 PM Memphis BYU ESPN Miami Monday, Dec. 22 2014

The Mighty BYU only brought an additional 50,000 viewers to the time slot from a year ago.

Pair me with Tiger Woods and "we" would draw a huge crowd. Pair anyone with Florida and you get at least those numbers.

ECU also had the highest rated regular season game. We draw.

Not playing a P5 school - right? What were those numbers?

Is that what you got out of this. If you read the article it clearly states the time slot is the reason for the high ratings. Only bowl game that day leading into the NFL wild card game.

Pretty much any team that won co share of the AAC could have played that game but chose the other bowls. ECU and UF both benefited as much as any team playing in a lower tiered bowl from viewership.

If Memphis or anyone played UF in the Miami Beach Bowl time slot they could not touch these numbers.

Right team(UF), right time, right Day led to those numbers.

Either way ECU wins because 4.5m viewers saw a competitive game would have been a a lot better with a win on the field of course.

Then again I guess more than 4.5 million people saw the replay of Memphis football fight and realized Memphis has a football team. So it worked out well for Memphis and ECU04-cheers

ECU vs UCF over 1m viewers
Cincy vs Houston 1.3 million viewers

Only conference games with over a million viewers I believe, may be one or two more but could not locate them.

No, I read one of the reasons -- and that wasn't ECU's ability "to draw" either. >>>

Unlike in previous years, this year’s Birmingham Bowl was the lead-in to NFL playoff coverage on ESPN. The game’s conclusion even ran several minutes into the network’s scheduled NFL pregame show. The game likely benefited, at least to some extent, from viewers who were waiting around for ESPN’s NFL coverage.

Actually both uf and Miami refused to play us.
