Bleacher Report feature on Georgia Southern.

Before anyone else goes crazy about how they should know and accept their place or whatever. One of the biggest reasons we added Georgia Southern and App State is because we wanted a league full of teams that would not just accept their place.

Maybe we didn't quite expect the league to have a down enough year that they would come in and do it immediately, but this is why we added them.

Love this quote:

"We want to build a powerhouse here," Fritz said. "I've said this from Day 1, we want to have the same kind of success here at Georgia Southern at the FBS that they're used to having at the FCS level. It's the all-time winningest FCS program in the history of the NCAA with six national championships. Everybody has heard of Boise State, and the reason everybody has heard of them is because of their football program. We feel like we can do that here."

I've got no problem with them not accepting their place as long as they do as they're told.

1975 A-State is the best bowl team that never was.

I think not getting into a bowl is giving us more pub than if we had gotten into one. lol

Maybe right now, but nothing close to what you get for the bowl game. To the rest of the country not on this message board... No.

There is no such thing as bad publicity. I thought for BR it was a very good read.

It's not bad publicity but you would get more if you were in a bowl game than not being in a bowl game. A bowl game is a nationally televised 3 1/2 hour commercial for your program.

I think Tony Barnhart's tweet of support was the biggest piece of exposure we've ever had. 03-lmfao As soon as he sent it, my phone blew up with people asking me what was going on, etc.

EDIT - I would like to add that this thread was started by a stAte fan.

...unless the game is a stinker and people change the channel, but I get your drift.

Very true, but there is no such thing as bad publicity...unless you are UAB.

O/U on ESPN commentator mentions of Georgia Southern being the SBC Champ and can't go bowling during other SBC bowl games?

Way under the amount of times they would talk about during your own bowl game.

Lemonade out of lemons.

Why are you telling us how great a bowl would be when we've clearly done everything we could do to make that happen?
