NIU impacting attendence - NIUSox10 - 12-08-2014 11:16 PM

We said before the season started, we wanted to turn Ryan field red like Wisconsin or Nebraska.

Well here is how there attendence shook out:

Week 1 vs Cal 34k
Week 2 vs NIU 41k
Week 4 vs WIU - 32k
Week 6 vs Wisc - 42k
Week 8 vs Nebr - 47k
Week 11 vs MU - 42k
Week 14 vs UI - 31k

Looks like we were within 1k representing the 2nd highest attendence for NU this year and 10k over the Illinois vs Northwestern matchup for a bowl bid.

I am sure Jim HATES the fact they lost to us, but it did turn the turnstyles.

Now let's make Huskie Stadium solid red for every game!

Nice research! Good to see that

Correct me if I'm wrong, but NU's students were not in session yet?

How many students typically go to the games? They have around 8k full time undergrads.

Guess we have more attendance by our fans when games are in Chicago.

That and a more appealing opponent. I feel like our fans are more about who we play, rather than watching NIU play X.

More NIU fans in attendance the last 2 games at NU than the 3 games at Soldier Field.

Hopefully that's rise in interest level in the program

I think it is more so an interest in cheaper ticket and parking prices.
